IF in the end, you find that God does exist ....

RE: IF in the end, you find that God does exist ....
You’d have to define every aspect of this alleged god and afterlife.

If god exists, he doesn’t seem to care about any one on this planet, so why should I care about him? As of right now, and extremely likely (unless he makes his presence known to everyone at once on this planet, or something of that nature) at the moment of my death, I will be an apatheist.

My short answer: No.

I'd also want to know what kind of god this is. People say the god of the bible is evil, but perhaps that's just a bad rap. Maybe this god really is all love, all that's holy and right. But then I'd have some questions. Like, how does He answer Euthyphro's dilemma....

Unlike the majority of theists most athiests trust observed and measurable evidence. So if truly indisputable evidence were presented that there was a God we would believe in them, but as of yet no such evidence has been presented. Now if he would be worshipped would depend on the nature of the God and the individual in question.

As to your derision towards our responses I find it ironic. You come to an atheist forum and seem surprised to find people who don't believe in God. Then speak in absolutes without any give or evidence which comes off as preachy. If you hadn't guessed is a hot button for most of us and thus results in sarcastic remarks.

Yes, I would accept him - I'm an atheist, not an anti-theist, and I am an ex-Christian. I'm not angry at god, I just don't believe in him any more. But it seems to me to be a moot point anyway because you have to believe in and accept Jesus as your saviour in life, based on faith; in death and genuinely meeting god face to face it would not be based on faith but fact.

So far I like the 8 y/o answer. Because that is what truly matters to a benevolent God. "From the mouths of babes...."

Because most of you said "no" ... you've made your minds up already. This shows that you will NOT accept any answer.
You've decided your fate without knowing anything. This puzzles, and saddens me. There is no hope for you at all.
Its like chopping your arm off because its dirty.

Man's perception of God is skewed in every aspect. My guess is that we will "all" be surprised rather than justified in our belief system, or lack thereof.

To clarify my question, for those who don't understand it:

IF you met your maker, the one who created YOU in HIS image, would you accept Him unconditionally [without question] in every way?
Will you Love Him? Or would you deny Him your love based on His absence in this life?

Obviously, we have a choices here. We will also have a choice in front of Him when He says..... "Will you accept me as your God?"

I like how you say this.

Quote: Man's perception of God is skewed in every aspect. My guess is that we will "all" be surprised rather than justified in our belief system, or lack thereof.

Then you say this right after.

Quote: the one who created YOU in HIS image

Talk about 8 year old logic..

Why's the all in quotes, are you exempt from the word "all", as if you're in contact with this entity? What do you "know" that we don't?

You keep presuming it's your god that we'll see at the end, if we see any god at all.  That's pretty arrogant, don't you think?

Regardless, I wouldn't deny your god worship solely based on its absence in my life.  I would deny it worship because nothing it has ever done has justified me worshiping it.  You think your god is awesome.  Myself and many others disagree with that assessment.  Vehemently.

Moreover, as I said earlier, I abhor the idea of worship. To blindly devote oneself to something, anything, is dangerous and lazy thinking. Nothing deserves that, not even family.
