Quote:One in three LGBT kids will go through some form of "conversion therapy" in their lifetime.

That's a sick and terrifying statistic....why do I need to remind myself we are in the 21st century every other day?

It's just so very sad. I've never understood how religious faith, something that has at most an uneven grasp on reality and morality, can drive parents to do these things to their kids.

I think if you're ready to send your kid off to a torture camp because you don't like who they want to fuck, you shouldn't be allowed to have children in the first place

These parents couldn't care less about their kids. It's all about their standing in the Christian community, because they know only too well what "cunts" Christians can be first hand. experience.

Although I think that this is true for many families, you can't discount the fear of your child being tortured an eternity for finding the wrong sex attractive.

Gay conversion camps should be illegal. They don't work and they harm many people. According to the article, some of them actually physically torture the kids.

Quote:"My hands were tied down and ice was placed on them while I was shown pictures of men. Later sessions would include copper heating coils, needles in my fingers, and electric shocks, all while Sam was shown gay porn.

These kids had no trial, no way to defend themselves. They are just sent off to a prison on the whim of their parents.

I gotta say again, if you really believe in hell, why the fuck would you have children? If there's the slightest chance they may end up there, how could you create a life knowing what is at stake? Something does not add up. Are people so arrogant as to think the product of their seed could not possibly end up there?

Personally I don't want to even inflict this world on a life that doesn't need to be here, let alone risk an eternity of suffering for it.

I'm glad these camps are banned in most of Europe (and why shouldn't they be? It's a torture method that violates and forcibly tries to change who you are)

Honestly, why are practices like these legal? It's physical and mental abuse
