I do like that poem. I imagine as a theist, this poem says man is at fault for inciting god's wrath, but as an atheist, I see it as saying man is the cause of god.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."
For context, this is the previous verse:
"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

You could look at it that way. My thoughts when I wrote it were more personal than theological. I noticed that whenever I felt like I was slipping and needed to get closer to god I always felt like I needed to buy something—a book or tape. I guess that even then, I was dissatisfied with all the requirements the Church was putting on me.. From an atheistic POV, a seed had been planted and breaking through the soil of Christian dogma.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

So... Not to put a damper on what sounds like an enjoyable experience, but what was going through your head while the radio host kept saying you were blessed? Haha Just curious. You seemed to take it in stride.

What was going through my head? . Well, I started to feel a philosophical disconnect., then remembered my purpose for being there in the first place. So I let it slide. To do otherwise would have been to become a thought cop. Life is too short for that.

That's exactly how I would have handled it. Anything else would have been self-sabotage. I'm more confrontational here (not by much) with theists, than IRL. But this place is like an agreement of sorts.

Precisely.
Theists who post on an atheist website are asking for conflict. They bring the controversy with them and we don't hesitate to challenge them.
But IRL—there is an African proverb: The lips of wisdom are closed except to the ears of understanding.
Maybe if we followed that axiom here, all the Christians would go away, but then it wouldn't be any fun

It's gonna be hard to say this without sounding pretentious, but here it goes. Lol
That proverb is awesome, and coincidentally, I was thinking about that the other day (not knowing it was a proverb), but I came to a little different conclusion. I was thinking on why it was that I always seem to have two groups of acquaintances: One group will hold my opinion and my intelligence (what ever that means) in high regard, while another group will think I'm just plain stupid (probably because I can get quite goofy). And the only difference I can see between the groups are their willingness to listen and go for deep conversations. This led me to conclude that the people who are willing to quiet themselves are actually the wise ones, and that I probably have very little to do with either groups opinions of me.
Actually, I'm more interested in the mind-set of the latter group, because I can't relate to them. Not to throw a blanket on them, but they seem to be less reflective, and I'm curious how it would be to live that way.
Anyhow, love the African proverb. Much more succinct than my wandering thoughts.

Why do you say that sounds pretentious?
