Interestingly, of the members of the Einsatzgruppen and other SS units who survived the war and who were interrogated by Allied inquisitors in preparation for trial at Nuremberg, none of them denied the atrocities of the Holocaust. They were more concerned with trying to deflect responsiblity for the killings. Herman Göering testified to the persecution of German Jews; Gruppenführer Otto Ohlendorf told of Einsatzgruppe D murdering ninety thousand Jews; and Rudolf Hess confessed openly to the gassing of more than a million Jews at his camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
Hearsay!
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

There are some things we don't want to know. Important things. -- Ned Flanders Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral. -- The Rev Lovejoy
The commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Hoss, wrote a memoir about the slaughter while he was in custody after the war. He would personally stand at the door to the gas chamber and watch the executions through the small glass window in the door. I read the book several years ago.
He was an animal lover. Go figure.

Rudolf Hess was the nutjob deputy Führer, who flew to Scotland to negotiate a peace deal. But you don't even have to go with the lower ranks. You get it from the horses mouth, so to speak. Heinrich Himmler gave an explicit speech on the Holocaust at Posen in the fall of 1943. Here it is, subtitled. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yi9hT8ES2g
Hoss admitted to 2.5 million deaths. He was accused of 3.5 million but he stated the extra million was incorrect. They died from starvation and disease.
As an aside, Hoss returned to the Catholic Church and received last rites before he was executed. So he's up there in heaven right now chillin' with the Lord.

Quite right. I didn't catch my autocorrect in time.
