What would you consider to be evidence for God?

But if I can conceive of greater beings than your shit of a god, it doesn't matter a fuck what the greatest being I can conceive of is, because your shit of a god has failed your maximally great being criterion.

Fuck, Chad, I thought you'd actually know stuff in the area you profess expertise, not just show an ability to spout tangenital nonsense.

And of course, the moment you actually define what characteristics make your "greatest possible being" great, it becomes possible to surpass it merely by proposing a being functionally identical, but capable of eating the first being. That's sort of the problem with what Chad's asking: "greatness" has no upper bound, and the characteristics associated with that concept are highly subjective anyway. It's essentially a meaningless criterion, and so I suppose it's an entirely appropriate one to attach to a god, in some respects. Thinking

To paraphrase the three-card trick of which I spoke earlier, consider it this way:

1. I have the biggest dick in the world. (n.b. this is factually accurate, btw, ladies)
2. "Oh, but my dick is much bigger"
3. Then by default your dick becomes the biggest in the world; therefore your dick is mine, as per 1.

Perfectly logical and reasonable to me.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Of course, you have the advantage there, because unlike god, your dick does not resist hands-on investigation. Tongue

Quite to the contrary, it demands it.

Yes, Randy used that exact argument against me. When I told him FSM was actually the real God, he said the FSM must therefor be the Christian God.

This is the problem with not going any further than defining concepts and then screwing around with them with philosophy.

I am not following this faulty logic regarding big dicks.

I swear to the FSM, Maelstrom, the sentence above made my brain go back and re-read it in a bad, B-movie robot voice.

FSM Grin Big Grin
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

It's when you can follow faulty logic you need to worry. Or become a professional apologist.

I have, just not an omnipotent one ...

So, all I have to do is "conceive" something and it is now magically real? Have I got a list. Gotta go now, got some conceiving to do.
