I would bet that somewhere in your ancestry, some testosterone filled brute took a risk and took a women he wanted to mate with. Maybe even stole her from a rival mate.  Sounds pretty risky to me.

It's pretty disgusting and bad that most humans would not risk in situations that require "real risks"; but they will gladly take stupid risks to compensate for the missing sense of real risking.

In other words; you see a stupid human drinking too much to feel powerful. But when it gets serious and the situation demands real strength -like sacrificing one's self-; out friend hides away like an ostrich.
