Do Supernatural Horror Movies Scare You?

RE: Do Supernatural Horror Movies Scare You?
I agree with others on here, now that I lost religion, and the belief in ghosts and demons, that stuff no longer scares me; I can no longer take it seriously. I usually find most of them funny. The Shining is a good movie. There are some other classics that I need to see. I usually watch Halloween, Halloween II, or Nightmare on Elm Street in October. The only movie that I saw that I thought was intense in the horror genre was the remake of The Hills Have Eyes. I probably had just graduated high school around that time, so I don't know how I'd view it now, but I remember my heart pounding in the theaters haha. Horror movies are usually easy to predict, and just suck ass IMO and I've seen a lot of them until giving up on them the last 5-6 years. Although, I gave American Horror Story a shot, and enjoyed the first two seasons.

Rarely does a supernatural horror/thriller get me scared. If it's well-done, I might get a little creeped out, but it's usually mostly funny. There are enough horrors that exist in the natural world; the movies which portray reality are the movies that scare me.

I am one of those who hates scary/horror movies. Last one was Blair Witch, if that says anything. LOL CD says it's just dumb. I refuse to watch it. I know it isn't considered a scary movie anymore. Angel

I can't be scared of something that does not exist in the real world. To me supernatural movies are either brainwashing bullshit (such as "The Exorcist", "2012") or entertaining fantasy ("Supernatural", "Poltergeist", etc.), or fantasy sci-fi ("Hercules" with K. Sorbo).

If it's well written, it'll scare me even if it has supernatural shit in it. But most flicks like that make me laugh. They're just silly.

I once had sex whilst that was on in the background. She was really hot, not into horror flicks though, or amateur filming escapades in woods. Giggidy giggidy goo!

Horror movies can disturb me but they rarely scare me. I have been watching since the early 80's when summer slasher films were popular. I have seen the all.

For some weird reason I LOVE horror movies. I view them as modern fairy tales.

I don't like most slasher films because they are lazy. They depend on kills and blood to keep the audience involved. That works for teens that are new to horror but once you have seen a few they become boring

Modern audiences like movies to go fast but I think that horror movies work best when there is a slow build up of suspense

I found out years ago that the picture never really did scare me.
It was always the sounds.

I never really got scared of scary movies. Saw was one of the best for me, the first one anyway, the sequels suck progressively after that one.

They used to scare the shit out of me... I used to love them and would watch them all and truth be told, I would be afraid come night time... thats when my mind would go back to those movies and have to turn on lights or sleep with the tv on... I was also a believer...

Now.. I still enjoy them as a fictional story, but as a non believer they don't have the same impact on me both on scaring me and loving them as much as I used to...
