Do Supernatural Horror Movies Scare You?

RE: Do Supernatural Horror Movies Scare You?
If it's a recent hollywood horror flick then I'd be more scared of wasting money than the actual movie. Hollywood somehow thinks any property you buy in murica has got to be haunted, and the spirits/demons are supernaturaly strong and all, but to get them to leave, all you have to do is just politely ask it to leave. As a plot twist you can google for 5sec to find a random stranger(priests are getting old, random bloggers seem to be the trend), and get them to ask the spirit to leave -_-

But many asian movies do scare me a lot because those have great twisted psychological themes and often have interesting plots. Ju on, dark water, suicide club, Uzumaki (the manga is one of my favorites)...

That's a very underrated sci-fi/horror flick.

There aren't very many horror flicks that actually freak me out.  "The Ring" freaked me right the fuck out.

I saw that when I was in college and I woke up in the middle of the night one night and flipped out because my coat hanging on the lower coat hook on the back of my bedroom door made the shape of the little girl.

As for scariest movie I ever saw, I was quite scared by The Exorcist when I saw it.  I was about 13 or 14 and my sister and I decided that we would watch all the horror movies that had been rated the scariest and we accidentally inverted The Exorcist and Poltergeist.

I try and put myself in the mindset to accept what movies give me, to accept their premises, so in a world where demon possession is a thing then the Exorcist terrified me.  Plus it hits a nerve with me generally about losing autonomy and my ability to control my out body.  This is one reason I refuse to watch Still Alice even though it's not a horror movie, it's a drama about Alzheimers.

Plus, I live alone now, so I'm not allowed to watch horror movies - especially ones about serial killers, stalkers, slashers, home invaders, etc. - or anything to do with true crime (even though I love watching documentaries about true crime) - they make me paranoid.  So I haven't seen either in a long time.  I don't know how I'd do if I watched a supernatural horror movie now.  I suspect it would still scare me.

I did see that one. I liked it a fair amount. I feel it's the real Doom movie.

Some of the good, old school horror movies are still great and there's nothing I like better than curling up on the couch on a dark, rainy night watching a good horror film.  And, for me, I know it's good if I turn off the lights when I go to bed and then run up the dark hallway to my bedroom.

As for some of the movies people call horror movies, "Saw", "Nightmare on Elm Street", "Friday the 13th" and the like, I refer to them as splatter films, not horror and I really don't like them.

And then we get to movies like "Paranormal Activity".  *Yawn*  Wake me when it's over.

Have you seen The Conjuring and Annabell? Good stuff!

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

MAMA!

I don't get scared by the supernatural because I don't believe in it but this one got me a bit. Watch it.
