If you don't think about races a lot, what's the point of this thread?

Trust me I'm not an older white person,at least the last time I checked. And although I don't think about race often sometimes I do have moments when I feel I should think about myself and all the implications of being me.

Do you hate your life as much as everyone hates theirs? Or more? Or less? Do my questions go to far? Do you think I care? Why? Am I annoying and weird? Why? Am I funny? Why not?

Like most humans I think it's a little scary, but I wouldn't want to live forever. I think I get tired of living at some point and so death would be like a nice rest.

How can you think it would be like a nice rest when it would be forever?
Why wouldn't you like to live forever? Suppose science took care of us and we were forever young and you had the chance to learn about anything you want and read every single book ever written, be a witness of countless great moments in history and be able to watch as we evolve. Would you still not want to live forever?

I, for one, don't see any point in life besides finding a way to cheat death once and for all. There is no point to anything, given the present reality of death. There is no point in reproducing if every single member of the species will die also. I think immortality, is really, the only logical conclusion.

Other than being a little wary older white people (over 50), I truthfully don't think much about other races unless someone is being an ass. Yes I do think racism is silly. ...

I can see that, given the percentages.  But we are not all racist assholes (I am white and over 50).  My mother, who is very old and white, is very much against racism and would have just about killed me and my siblings if we had been expressing racist ideas while growing up.  She would not have tolerated such nonsense at all.  But not everyone is like my mother.

And yes, racism is silly.  I normally use words like "stupid" and "idiotic" to describe racism.  But "silly" works, too.

I say silly because I am the world's biggest mutt, I have a Creole mother and an Afro-Latino father. I always find it a bit silly and a little sad to realize I could be related to the idiot screaming about niggers taking over.

As for being wary of the over 50s I suppose it's more I try not speak first just let them come to me sort of thing. Especially since I have sort through the ignorant and out of date people who mean no harm and someone who's an ass.
