There is not a single demonstrable case of another mind surviving the death of its vessel; i.e., the brain. Not one. Your beliefs in this matter are simply unjustified and unreasonable.

There is not a single demonstrable case of Rik understanding the burden of proof, either.
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.

Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.

Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.

Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.

Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."

I hope so.  Rolleyes
In the meantime i was reading your interesting signature by Jim Morrison.
It follow my same way of life when he say.......... There can't be any large-scale revolution until there's a personal revolution, on an individual level. It's got to happen inside first.
Also yoga believe that the real treasure is within.
What people look outside or think doesn't exist is instead inside.

Tub.
I lost the count of how many times atheists claim that there is no God, that with the physical life is all over, that we got the consciousness that we got from previous generation and so on.
Are these not believes?
Are you kidding me?  Smile

No that is not a belief.
We went through this recently with some bozo insisting on telling us what atheism means. You are just ar deluded as he was. Why can't you theist at least come up with a new tactic when you see something isn't working? The more stuff doesn't work the more you persist in it. I guess that's what faith is all about.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.

Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.

NDEs are bullshit. Hallucinations, or dreams of drugged brains on the verge of death, interpreted as supernatural occurrences misinterpreted and exaggerated by people, who desperately wish anything remotely interesting ever happened to them...

You know what? It's probably simpler, if I just call you a f***tard - at least that you might understand...

They are called near death experiences not death experiences. The difference may seem small but the effects are huge.

Since the OP is about atheism being UN (United Nations?) -scientific, I suppose we should pause a moment to scientifically consider your NDE claims.

Thankfully, the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP) has already done so:

Is There Evidence for an Afterlife?
http://www.csicop.org/sb/show/is_there_e..._afterlife

NDE Experiment: Ethical Concerns (a review of "studies" of the NDEs reported in hospitals)
http://www.csicop.org/si/show/nde_experi..._concerns/

If you want to learn about your brain's architecture and why humans tend to believe silly things, read The Belief Engine.
http://www.csicop.org/si/show/belief_engine

And many more such articles!

I know you don't actually care to investigate the truth of how our brains create fabrications like NDEs (and religion!), and won't read any of that. I've come to expect it. But since you came here calling us unscientific and claiming we just need to look to see the truth, I'm pointing out to you that we have looked, scientifically, and found the concepts lacking.

You should try science and reason. They're often quite refreshing.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Not a single one of these gives evidence that the person left their body during the NDE.

Care to be more specific about which one you think provides evidence of someone leaving their brain?
