No, it is lack of belief in theistic claims. "Disbelief in God" entails active rejection of belief in this "God", which although can be embraced by the category, is not central to atheism. Theism says "a god exists"; atheism says "I need justification before I can believe that claim. Got any?"

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

It sometimes describes itself as a philosophy, way of life or socio-spiritual organization rather than a religion. Members follow a regime of daily practice of meditation and yoga, with a particular focus on chanting. Ananda Marga are more than just a bunch of prancing Hindu fools. Not much more, mind you, but still...
http://www.start.umd.edu/tops/terrorist_...asp?id=252 Quote:Ananda Marga (The Ananda Marga Yoga Society) is a Hindu-based religious movement that was founded in India in 1955 by Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar. The group practices a contemporary form of Tantric Yoga and dedicates itself to "self-realization and humanity." A component of Ananda Marga was Sarkar's theology of Progressive Utilization Theory (PROUT), which dealt with ending social and economic injustice in the world. This theory led the group to oppose, often violently, traditional schools of Indian thought and the Indian caste system.

Yoga can be a very useful discipline of exercise. I get its purpose. But adding woo to it, just don't cut it. Whats next? Boxe plus woo?
