the issue properly.
Take this sentence from your link.
It say........(F1) The evolution of species demonstrates that development of the brain obtains a corresponding mental development............
Does this means that the development of the brain come come first and the mental development follow?
Of course not, there is no evidence that this is the case.
Seeing as that was never in contention, this point is irrelevant to whether you've been shown evidence that consciousness is in the brain. So what the fuck does this have to do with anything?
(February 4, 2016 at 8:56 am)Little Rik Wrote: In fact it make sense that this is not the case and that it may well be the opposite as the wish to evolve come before the matter is build.
A builder got the idea to build something so the idea come first and the building follow not the other way around.
One more demented point.
It say..........Brain damage destroys mental capacities..........
Obvious.
It would be like to say that a car accident hurt the driver.
What sort of reason is this?
It's called an inference. Understandably you haven't heard of it as all you know are stories and analogies.
(February 4, 2016 at 8:56 am)Little Rik Wrote: But let us come to more demented points.
It say...........If the mind could exist independently of the brain, why couldn’t the mind compensate for lost faculties when brain cells die after brain damage?
.........
Simple.
Because the mind is stuck inside the body-brain.
Just imagine you after an accident.
You are stuck inside your vehicle.
How the hell can you fix your damage vehicle by being stuck in it?
More stupid analogies. You have been given evidence that the consciousness is in the brain. If you believe something else, it doesn't mean you haven't been provided evidence. And that was the point.
(February 4, 2016 at 8:56 am)Little Rik Wrote: This guy who write all this crap has no idea of whatsoever how the whole system works
Still not relevant.
Did i ever say that the consciousness is not in the brain?
Once again you don't pay attention to what people write.
Time and time again i said that the consciousness is stuck inside the brain
until the body-brain last (to say that is dead).
After that the consciousness is disconnected from the dead body-brain
and live on independently.
The point however was whether the consciousness is a product of the brain as atheists
claim or the other way around as smart people that know how the system works say.
Capisci?

Anyone else noticed this ongoing trend of individuals who come here with their pet hypotheses about things, then when every single person on here (many of whom have advanced degrees in difficult subjects, like engineering, science, and/or medicine) dissects the ridiculous assertions being made, they will without fail respond with some version of:
"None of you understand what I'm talking about. I'm operating on a higher level."
Is it Dunning-Kruger Syndrome?
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled people make poor decisions and reach erroneous conclusions, but their incompetence denies them the metacognitive ability to recognize their mistakes. The unskilled therefore suffer from illusory superiority, rating their ability as above average, much higher than it actually is, while the highly skilled underrate their own abilities, suffering from illusory inferiority. You don't even know enough to realize just how little you know.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Look Sofa.
I am a very very patient guy so i can wait until the next Christmas for your answer.
What is the relationship between consciousness and evolution?
I reckon that a respectable atheist that argue with creationists about evolution should know.
I am sure you know Sofa.
I also know that you are a bit shy but please help LR to understand.
No wiki please, just from you.

Gee, mate.
You just steal the words from my mouth.
Of course i believe in the....... Dunning-Kruger Syndrome when i see people which awareness is totally
related to the physical world trying to judge a science which doesn't belong to the physical reality.
Not only that.
I also believe in the canary syndrome in which some people are happy to live in a mental cage.

Complicated for the...Oh High One?
No, no Sofa, you just don't want to show all your greatness.
We all know how great you are.

Yes indeed, I think we've seen quite a few examples of this effect. Often coupled with Stockholm Syndrome.

Oh Prik, everything flies over your head doesn't it?
The answer was a joke my friend. The Surgeon joked about the "relationship" between evolution and consciousness earlier in the piece and I merely carried it on.
You see, "It's Complicated" is a relationship status on Facebook, whilst at the same time being a correct answer to the question.
A rather wonderful play on words that you missed quite spectacularly.
Bless you.
