Are you?
I am actually. Good fucking guess Prikky.
My name in my previous life (As in, the last one, not the myriad of lives I had before that, of course) was Engledear Thumbplanter, I was a Viking from what is now known as Norway. Among other favourite pastimes, I liked nothing more than a good raping (hence the surname) and pillaging, , playing headball (basically rugby played with a victim's head, great fun), fighting, sailing and postulating the flatness of the Earth.
You truly are a guru.
You fucking melon.
Sof, thanks for confirming my belief.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Well Rik, there are many creatures that manage to survive without a brain, you can google it. Jellyfish is one among them.

Also, a mind implies an ability to reason. A brain is mandatory for reasoning.
Now youre going to say that plants grow towards sunlight without a brain bet you never thought about it huh pool?
Its called phototropism. Photopropism combined with gravitropism facilitates this. Google it.

Very true pool.
Unfortunately you fail anyway.
The brain come as soon as the consciousness expand
and need a bigger and more complex system to operate.
This is the rule.
Cells also do not have a brain but they have consciousness.
Nothing can exist without consciousness.
Cave man walk.
Later on man need some vehicles to move so they discover the car and
then the plane and in the future we will have spaceships.
So it is the complexity that force us to go into high gear so to speak.
The brain come as creatures go into high gear.
Before that there is no need for.
That doesn't mean that even low form of life do not need consciousness to
go ahead in their journey to perfection.

The mind is what brains do.
There is no mind without a physical brain.
That way of thinking belong to the history as belong to the history the notion that the planet earth
was flat and was the center of the universe.
Things in life move and change.
These days more smart people understand that the brain is the vehicle and the mind the driver.
Beside has already been proved that the consciousness mind can survive the death of the body-brain
by NDEs experiences.

Didn't i tell you to eat those funny mushrooms only after you post?
Wrong again pool.
Plants consciousness is so small that they have to be driven by mother nature instinct.
Some plants are smarter than other like the creepers that move around looking for better conditions.
Many other are not so when the condition are not good they die although their consciousness move on.
There is no need to reason for lower form of lives.
It is only when plants merge into animal life that some reason is needed although they still
have to driven mainly by mother nature instinct.
