Why are so many people afraid to attack Islam?

Between 2006 and 2013, 0,7 percent of terrorist attacks have been committed by Islamist groups or persons. Again, according to Europol statistics in the public domain.

I think this is somewhat misleading. To really understand the impact of religious terrorism you need to look a bit farther than just Europe.

The Guardian Wrote:Religious extremism main cause of terrorism, according to report
Since 2001 religious extremism has overtaken national separatism to become the main driver of terrorist attacks around the world, according to the Global Terrorism Index

In recent history the EU has had a lot more political and nationalist terrorism than religious, but then, that's not all that surprising when Europe is probably one of the most, if not the most secular continents on Earth. What you don't seem to take into account is that religious attacks on other continents do still affect Europeans and influence their fears. I mean, just look at what happened in Tunisia with over 30 British holidaymakers dead on the beach because of one mindless dickwad from ISIS.

Report also doesn't take into account failed or prevented attacks.

Also doesn't reveal how individual states classify what is a terrorist attack or what is a failed terrorist attack, which I suspect varies by individual states and hence could massively skew the europol dataset.

It might have something to do with the risk involved. Christians/Jews have calmed the fuck down (for the most part) over the last few centuries, whereas Islam seems to be reaching its peak of hyper aggressiveness.

As you can see on this site, a good bit of us don't care to mince words with the Muslim proselytizers that cast their poles here. To put a question to you; can you really blame people for not wanting to put themselves out there against a slew of violent barbarians and their enablers?

I have no problem blasting Islam for being a horrible and dangerous superstition. I can however understand that some people in the public eye are under a lot more pressure. So they probably tone down or avoid altogether things they would like to say. They are aware I imagine of the chance of violent repercussions against their country.

I'd rather everyone got this out in the open one and for all, but that's easy for me to say.
