I've noticed things like that many times. There are American shows from the SciFi- and so called History channel that are ported to German TV with only the narrators being translated. And it's obvious they have their pants more than full when it comes to religion. Or, which might be even worse, the producers tag along with religious narratives. That's why I call it the so called history channel because they don't even manage to get their historical facts in order.
What the OP describes is scripted reality. It's bad in every country since it tries to get ratings at the expense of certain social groups. In America it's obviously about atheists. In Europe it's out to make the poor and the social fringe look bad. It's something to barf over, even more so since it's agitprop at it's worst.

Though I don't know if muslims actually do that. Your average atheist would not make a scene in a restaurant when they see a family having a quiet prayer. We're not the other side of the coin from christians.
The closest I've seen to this kind of scenario is a "muslim" cashier being confronted by a "bigoted" customer who is saying stuff like "I don't want a terrorist to take my order"

I did look up the full youtube clip to provide it here and the most hilarious part of finding it on youtube: The video is titled "What Would You Do?
Christian Discrimination"

What I was going to say about the clip was that What Would You Do didn't do any of the things that they follow up with in these kinds of situations where they change variables in the situation such as changing the religion of the family praying, making the objecting atheist part of the family and being forced to participate, etc. Nope, nope, nope, they just continue to run the same scenario over and over...

Now, let them do a segment about how people would react when a devout Christian family blows up someone of a different religion for praying over their own food - a far more likely scenario.

Activity on my facebook page from Tracie Harris:
For potential quoting purposes, here is the text of the post:
Quote:John Quinones @JohnQABC – July 19
Tweet to John: “Congratulations on the continued negative perception of atheists I have never met and probably will never meet an atheist like that.”
John’s response: “No, not all atheists lash out at prayer, just like not every one of the ethnicity of our racist actors is racist.”
WHAT THE...?!
Our racist actors aren’t really racists—they’re just portraying shits who subscribe to racism. So…
Our atheist actress isn’t really an atheist—she was just portraying shits who subscribe to atheism.
Is that what we're saying here?
His rebuttal makes NO sense!?
And is he ACTUALLY implying that there are good racists? And that finding an atheist who is an ass to people, is in the same ball park as finding a racist who is an ass to people?
Talk about missing the point, John-boy.
