Free Municpal Services ?

Free Municpal Services ?
For churches.  Free.  Gratis.  Snow plowing, tree removal, trash pickup, etc.

I get the idea people think it's OK for towns and cities to do this IF they do it far all churches and faiths that ask.

I was unaware of the practice till recently; my first thought was, uh, NO, that can't be right. But, they do it for all, and it's not like atheists have club houses or baby roasteries around town.

Whadda ya all think ??  I'd appreciate some clarity and appreciate your input here very much,

thanx !!

I think fucking churches should be taxed into oblivion so don't go by me.

I think they should have to pay, just like any other business or club.  And be likewise taxed like any other such organization.

I don't want my tax dollars going to support some religion of which I not only do not approve, but I strongly despise.  There is supposed to be a separation of church and state in the U.S., and it ought to be followed rigorously.  In my opinion, it is criminals and traitors who have the government support churches in the ways you describe.  They should all be arrested and charged for their crimes.

I agree, that I wouldn't want my tax dollars going towards a church, but if they are taxed, it gives them more of an excuse to put their religion into real world situations on a much higher level. We already have too much of that.

Gotta throw this in:

the numerous baptists are paying for the goddam catholics and the even more unspeakable JWs and LDS to get their trash picked up. And so are the others in this odious scheme.

I'm of the opinion ecumenism is totally proscribed by any faith that has a fucking clue as to how religion works, and to get all of the churches and faiths in one town to all apostatize on the subject counts as a win for us.

Anyone buying this load, or since $$$ is involved, it's a moot point to declare victory from the 'forced heresy' goalposts ??

It's wrong on every level that I can think of. Someone mentioned separation of church and state and tax issues. The attached has some of the issues outlined.

Funny though, throw a little coinage at a church, and suddenly those 'sincerely held' religious beliefs aren't nearly so sincerely held.

We should exploit this more.

If there was an Atheist "Church" or "Clubhouse" or whatever. Not only would we be taxed, but we'd pay all utilities in addition to often having to repair vandalism.

And they're so persecuted. Right.
