If you think I'm stupid, that's okay.  Equating a fetus with it's own human DNA, a beating heart, arms and legs, and a functioning brain with a tumor makes you look even stupider.   I really think you need to study some science that isn't from the 19th century.

Care to show me where I made that argument you fucking troglodyte?!?

So your point is "don't take a moral position on anything someone does unless you're willing to take care of the consequences of that person's actions?"

I think the point is, "Put your money where your mouth is."

Your mileage obviously varies.

If you don't like abortions, don't have one. Outside of that, shut your fucking piehole.

Claims that with abortion there are "plenty of consequences to society."

Asked to prove it.

What consequences are there when a woman aborts a <13 week old fetus?

She has stopped a beating heart that has already been beating for 5-7 weeks and terminated a human life.

At that stage, cognitive thought has not occurred. The fetus is alive, but not independent. The heart is beating, but cannot continue to do so outside the mother. Equating that to a human who is independent of its mother is not supportable. There is a nub of a brain, but there is no activity showing thought happening.

What makes a human a human? Arms? Legs?

... or cognitive thought?

A wart has my DNA. Is it an abortion to extirpate it? Macaque monkeys have arms and legs. Do you protest when they are killed? Roaches have functioning brains, yet I've no doubt you've got a can of Raid under your sink.

Under thirteen weeks, the fetus is incapable of thought, which is, after all, the hallmark of the species labelled "Man, the wise". What differentiates us from other animals is our capacity for thought. If a fetus is not capable of thinking, how on Earth can it be human? It is a potential human, sure. But if you are going to fight for potential personhood, will you outlaw masturbation?

eta: Wait, forget I asked that. Big Grin

I agree with verse.  Adam became a living creature when God breathed the breath of life into him.  You said that answered the whole question, so I wanted you to apply that and tell me when we become a living person.  When does God breathe life into us?

I might be a tad bit rusty in my Genesis, but I'm pretty sure this shit transpired after god paraded all the animals before Adam asking him what helpmeet he wanted. It's only after the dumb cunt turned down a raccoon that God decided to create a woman.

Oh, that's right, what I'm talking about happened in chapter one. Forgive me, someone slightly less sane will have to remind me how chapter two is only a clarification of chapter one. Both from dust; one from the rib...some clarification. Helpmeet anyone? Believers can't reconcile this shit.
