I'm inclined to use 'epic' to describe a certain avatar.
I was on another atheist place before but it didn't end well . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I got Pharyngulaphobia from trying to post there. It was a bit Stalinesque, a cult of personality.
Found AF.org by accident, by rolling two 16 siders and using the ASCII table to make a URL.
I honestly wonder about the underpinnings of reality.
I find its best, most constant and predictably accurate model to be one which includes no gods, only impersonal consistencies.
But to keep that champion fresh, and to further convince myself that it is the most plausible, I have to keep testing it against all comers.
This has been a good place to do that.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?

I came here because I thought it was a place to purchase a sheep for bizarre sexual rituals I perform while worshiping the dark lord.
Color me surprised when I realized that I misunderstood some context when people were willingly calling themselves sheep on this site.
Turns out they were just religious twits.

I was a long time lurker and also posted there at times, roughly between 2007 and 2012. But it's hard to get noticed there with all the regulars in-grouping so heavily. While I don't think it is as bad as ppl make it sound (and boy are there deranged PZ haters), and I disagree with the assessment that it is cult of personality, I really ran out of interest because the commentariat has become very limited in their horizon (they compulsively have to sneer at anything standard skeptics find cool it seems, and everything from genetics to comets became about the partriarchy and rape culture, and any topic which wasn't about that, apparently secretly enabling it), control freakish and very negative in their outlook on everything, and thus got on my nerves. Also, PZ Myers got angrier by the week and I didn't feel like spending my spare time watching a guy pop his aneurysms live on the internet.

You're at AF.org.

I lost respect for Myers when he started slinging baseless accusations of rape around. You do not do that.

CD is lying. Tibs stocked the Staff Lounge with free weed like, just after you left, LP. The timing was just unfortunate.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
