As usual, late to the party....
Welcome True Christian, its always good to have more theists on these boards, and i mean that in a sincere way, not in that we love to harass theists.. well, a little bit of heckling is fun ;-)
If you have a thick skin i'm sure you'll be fine.
I just posted a similar comment in another thread which i believe is relevant here.
Its not people believing in a supernatural deity that is a problem for me. I may laugh a bit about it but it doesn't cause me a problem. Agnostics are almost atheists, they just are willing to leave the door open for the possibility of a God until at some point it can be conclusively proven one way or another.
The problem for me is the organized religions who rely on brainwashing their followers into believing things that are even in conflict with what are known facts, and then those people trying to present to me these things as facts.
From your OP it seems like indeed you are cherry picking, and i'm just about to start a new thread about people similar to you, i'm calling in something like New Age Christians... i'll be writing it directly after this post. Feel free to jump in.

Even later to the party, hello True Christian...I admire your bravery in posting here.
Having digested much of what has been said I am left with one conclusion which is that you are a person who has a need to WANT there to be a " god ".
I, on the other hand, have no such need.
I do not seek to repeat all the reasons why atheists reject the idea of " god "...you know them.
You stated previously that you believe in evolution, but it's evolution instigated by " god ".
That's your need showing itself I suggest.
A man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

Yes... what a lovely religion! 68 year old geezers marrying 14 year old girls! Imagine Clint Eastwood marrying Dakota Fanning. In any developed country these sickos would be thrown in jail!

Why else would they be so obsessed with virginity? :S
You'll notice it's only the virginity of the WOMAN that they are concerned with! The guys can screw everything that moves before they get married and that's okay! But if the woman is not a virgin when she marries, she has shamed her family to the point that they'll kill her! Calling these people backward hardly scratches the surface.

You fail to realise that christianity and Evoultion are incompatible.
One denies the other and visa-versa
Because if god is working on the time scale that science suggests then he/she/it
cannot be capable of a personal relationship with individuals. We would be far too fleeting for he/she/it
to even register our existence.
More likely that such a creator would only be dealing with life at the species level.
And that eliminates the possibility of a personal relationship with your god.

Such an argument ZB always make me wonder just How may people on this planet consider the bacteria they host every day?
do we talk to them?...................nope
do we WANT a personal relation-shit with them??.........nope
Just makes you wonder about the insecurity and arrogance of Homo sapiens.

God is not a person, an organism, so we cannot imagine what he thinks, just like, as you said, bacteria cannot understand what we think. He created us, that is why he cares about us, just like you would care about anything that you created. It is not for no reason that he is called "our Father".

Then how can you claim to have a 'personal relationship' with this make believe god of yours?

If I went around creating bacteria, you think I would care about that bacteria? Do you think that bacteria would call me 'Father'?

If as you say, ' we cannot imagine what he thinks'
How do you "know" that he cares for us?

How do we know that he can care or think ? How do we know whether those words have any meaning to him?
