My trouble with any of the teleological arguments is with
the tacit assumption that that that is is that that is intended. Generally this is put forward with the blithe arrogance of the little mind and less education of the typical evangelical Christian who takes it as given that man is the crown of creation and the Earth is his plaything. I take the view that the purpose of the universe is that I may spend recreational time typing this post. Admittedly the universe took several millions of years to reach this goal, but such good design was included from the outset that.....Ta Daaaaa! Here we are.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?

I always ask Christians who claim that Earth is engineered for human life, fine tuned, why 80% or more of the surface is actually hostile to us?
