I guess it is time for this again:

Always liked Bill Nye. Hearing him drop the F bomb like this has allowed my feelings to blossom into love.

Dont say F-Bomb, I find that offensive. Say fuck fuck fuck, "F-Bomb" makes baby euphemism jesus cry.

Ah, it feels great not being brainwashed.

I'm sure it does! But there are much more embarrassing arguments you would probably have made than this one Smile

It seems pretty embarrassing to me.  Even if it worked as an argument (which it obviously does not), it also seems more supportive of an incompetent, amoral god, than what the religionists want to conclude from it.  If this is the best that god could do, he should go back to the drawing board and work out the details a lot better before creating anything.

No the worst would have to be when I claimed that the bible is proof of a god. How a random book that's continuously changed, rewritten in many versions and written by humans can be proof of a divine being, I have no clue.

My trouble with any of the teleological arguments is with
the tacit assumption that that that is is that that is intended.
Generally this is put forward with the blithe arrogance of
the little mind and less education of the typical evangelical
Christian who takes it as given that man is the crown of
creation and the Earth is his plaything.

I take the view that the purpose of the universe is that I
may spend recreational time typing this post.  Admittedly
the universe took several millions of years to reach this
goal, but such good design was included from the outset
that.....Ta Daaaaa!   Here we are.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat? Huh

I can think of many more embarrassing ones ("But but but if there is no God then when I die it's all over. There must be a God or I haz a sad!!!"), but can you think of a less embarrassing one? Smile

Since they are all fallacious, it is likely more a matter of taste than anything else for which bad argument is more or less embarrassing than another.  But, of course, one can always come up with total non sequiturs to vie for something worse than the ones that one typically finds people putting forth.

I always ask Christians who claim that Earth is engineered for human life, fine tuned, why 80% or more of the surface is actually hostile to us?
