Lifelong atheist, newly joined

RE: Lifelong atheist, newly joined
Well, yes. You are born without a belief in God. It is only through your encounters with fellow humans that you may be imbued with a belief in a god. I wasn't born believing you couldn't divide by zero. I didn't even know what zero was. Btw, vix, welcome. Why not post an intro in the intro section to tell us more about you?

I'm not sure what forum that is and most importantly what to say. Where would that be?

There are two common senses of the word "atheist" so that in one sense you are perfectly correct and in another you are not.  The two senses can be specified in terms of weak atheism and strong atheism.  They are discussed in detail at:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negative_a...ve_atheism

Basically, one sense of the term "atheism" is the absence of a belief in a god.  That is weak atheism.  The other is the belief that there is no god.  That is strong atheism.  Notice, one is not having a particular belief.  It is not itself a belief.  You are born a weak atheist, as you are not born with beliefs regarding the existence of god.  You are not, though, born a strong atheist, because you are not born with beliefs regarding the existence of god.

At this site, people typically (though not always) use the term "atheism" to mean weak atheism.

I grew up on 3 bean salad from KFC!
I would go and buy that and not buy any chicken!

They stopped selling it about 20 years ago though!
Can anyone confirm that it is sold by KFC in their country? (must be KFC)

I'd like to order a 40 foot container. (Actually better make that a 20 foot container, I got a little excited there for as moment)

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
