How is it that you know better?  I have been reading some of his posts for much longer than you have been a member, and I am not entirely sure that he does not mean to encourage people to be doing such things.  Of course, I expect him to deny everything should there be an official inquiry into the matter, but that means nothing as far as what he presently intends.

If someone does send you anything inappropriate via PM, you should report them to a staff member to be dealt with appropriately.  If they are being really bad, they are likely to be permanently banned.  Tiberius wants the site to be a good place, and he will be pissed off at people mucking up his site.

Thanks for the info, I'm a little familiar with the protocol of reporting offensive or crude messages.

That somehow has an ominous sound to it, like you have needed such information in the past.

Lol yes, when one has used internet forums for longer than a year, one tends to encounter creeps that find it fitting to send you photographs of their members . In such scenarios, knowing the appropriate protocol is quite beneficial.

I am happy to say that no one has ever sent me pictures of their member.  And I have been on forums for many, many years.

In your case, did you also post pictures of yourself when you had the problem before?  I do not want the following to sound the wrong way, as such things should not be necessary.  My guess is, you could avoid some of those sorts of things by selecting a gender neutral name, not telling anyone you are a woman, and not posting a picture of yourself online.  Some people (okay, mostly men, not usually women) get crazy online and do things that they would not do in ordinary life (and some do enough crazy shit in their ordinary lives).

Again, that should absolutely not be necessary at all.  But you should also be safe walking home alone in the middle of the night in any neighborhood in the world.  But, unfortunately, the world is not as it should be.

Maybe I should go fix myself a drink...

Don't tell me we're bordering on a form of Internet victim blaming here [emoji15]

Lol, joking. I like people to know I'm a woman, and I like to have pictures of myself online because it's nice to put a face to a post but I guess if I'm going to do that I have to accept that it'd attract some creeps. Fortunately I know how to handle that.

I was very interested in making sure that my comments were not construed as victim blaming.  It is not your fault if someone else is an asshole.  (That should be reread by other people, as needed, until it sinks in for them.)  I was merely pointing out how one can avoid unpleasant interactions with some assholes.  If some asshole gets banned because he (and let's face it, it will almost certainly be a he and not a she) sends you some inappropriate PMs, getting rid of the asshole will benefit the site.  Frankly, if they would just fucking die, that would be better, but that, unfortunately, isn't going to happen to them all soon enough.

When I think about such things, it really makes me very angry.  Of course, being a man (and a white man, so I am on top of the world, or would be if I were rich), it is not a problem for me directly.  But I am really annoyed that people (mostly men) do not treat women properly.  It annoys me when thinking about my wife, my sister, my mother, and people like you, who I do not even really know.  You should not have to deal with this kind of shit.  And yet, you do have to deal with it.

I was right, though, the Scotch does help. Wink

Hahahaha, the scotch might have tipped you slightly over the edge though, I know they're bad people but they don't have to die for being assholes [emoji38]
