My comment on street food is that I never seem to get sick from it. I think all the liquor I was drinking killed off the bacteria or something. I've never been to India though, I think that's the real test for street food and travelers diarrhea.

I can vouch for India, my digestive system has been hit by some weird and wonderful stuff but India was the only place I got severe trots, to the point of running to the bog (hole in the floor). The flight home was an experience to say the least, not often I ignore seatbelt safety lights but when one needs to go...

I was not quite right for about 3 months after coming home. In my defence, most of the locals we were with also got ill eating the same stuff so it must have been wrong.

I walked straight into a giant spider web in Australia. I spun around and started frantically checking myself and then saw that the spider (A fucking huge multi-colored monstrosity) was on the one remaining strand of web.

No, I haven't had the need, although I tore my miniscues in my knee in Chile, however Chile is not the third world and their medical system is about on par with ours but waaaay more affordable.

As to the funds, I do lots of different things but mostly it involves intense seasonal work. I worked on a fishing boat in Alaska for example. This is the way to go, because not only can you make lots of money quickly but you can also go on unemployment afterwards and have income on your trip if you don't go over seas, so that way I can travel inside the US for a bit and then go on a trip. I've also worked a little as a street performer.

Several years ago I had a fairly popular youtube channel that was basically a 'youtube atheist' thing. It got kind of tedious though and I kind of want to make one about traveling and stuff, but that's all relatively new and I'm not sure that I really want to do it. In one way or another I've been involved in online Atheist shit for ages though. About 10 years ago I was really active on a forum called the RavingAtheist forum. I think it sort of collapsed or something though. Not really sure.

No, I worked on a Salmon Fishing boat, which isn't that interesting or dangerous. It's mostly just super long hours and a lot of work. Although that's not what I do now, but the point is that intense seasonal jobs are a good way to go if you want to live like me.

I'm a juggler, when I've done street performing successfully it's always been with a partner though, mostly my friend who spins poi.

Yeah, inevitably traveling someone will try to hustle you. We also had a pretty sketchy experience with a loud coked up drunk in El Salvador. This sort of stuff is pretty rare for me though, as I tend to travel dirty. I mean literally being dirty, bearded and looking like I have nothing to rob. I'm also 6' and athletic and during most of my time in South America was with a male friend who was also bearded, dirty and athletic. So two young fit guys who look like they don't have any money are not your ideal targets for anything. I would say that people are nice probably 50 times for every time someone is weird or creepy.

The street performing sounds cool. Sorry, more questions. How young did you start juggling and then performing? What do you juggle? Chain saw, bowling ball, apple? Had to look up poi. I had seen it before but never knew what it was called. Do they/you do the fire and light things?

I did the poor look for the 2 yrs while in the USVI. Just cuts down on being hassled.
