Is it logical for a Theological Noncognitivist to identify as an atheist?

I also believe that the notion of "God" is intentionally kept mysterious.
You can't kill or eliminate something if you don't know what it is or what it's weak point is.
Therefore God will always be a "boogy man type figure".

You can never get any better focus, as it will all begin to fall apart under scrutiny.
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.

You're right! People can't afford to define it properly, because then you might be able to try and test for it. It must remain out of reach. When our reach gets longer, it has to move even further away.

You know, the last thing religious theists should be doing is trying to actually find God. The probability of him being the slightest bit like what they've been telling everyone is virtually zero.

He's safe from tests when housed in the imagination.

Or does a theist have to subscribe to one of the many prepackaged off the shelf deals?

Nope, you're still a theist.  Any belief in any god of any kind makes you a theist.  You could worship a tree in your back yard and be a theist.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide mankind that cannot be achieved as well or better through secular means.

I like that position. Not sure why we have to define ourselves, why we have to be either this or that. I use atheist as the closest description for me. If I delve into details with others (and I don't want to do that here) I may fall into other descriptive categories on certain specific points of view.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

I believe in the magic Cherry Monster God who is believed to steal cherries whenever you pick them. I pray every time I get a cherry that he doesn't steal it. It always works. Because he has never once stole any of the ones I get.
If pinkie pie isn't real, then how do you explain the existence of ponies, huh? If ponies are real, then that's proof that Pinkie Pie is real. Checkmate, christians!  Heart
