ETA: Forget it. It's definitely on. The one in Brighton's called Film and Comic Con, and is moved from London, but there's another in London called MCM comic con, and that's the one you're going to.
Yes, the MCM one is by far the biggest, I've been a few times now and it gets bigger each time.

I've not tried the Brighton one. Certainly a plus as it's not in London. Can't stand London

Well my friend told me that he won't even consider the Brighton one but he would consider the MCM London one. Apparently last year the London one, which has now moved to Brighton, was a complete shambles - bedlam... packed in like sardines. He said he'd be very wary of going to another 'showmasters' event again, if that means anything to you? I'm presuming it's the organiser.

The good thing about London MCM is that we can all spill outside. In fact, that's where most of the fun is, especially if the weather is nice.

I'm up for it - count me in I'm still working on my friend cos it would be nice to go with someone I know IRL but even if he doesn't go I'm still up for it. And spilling outside sounds good too but I won't get my hopes up too much about the weather being nice .
I've had a look at their site, MCM Comic Con - London, and it looks pretty cool (and an amazing website). But it doesn't say yet what stars are going to be there unfortunately - don't suppose you have any insider knowledge on that score?

Yes, not sure I'd want to go on my own but people do. Hopefully there'll be some interesting people there, last year I saw Robert Llewellyn (Kryton).

I'd love to meet Kryton, or even more, Chris Barrie - he was always my favourite from Red Dwarf. They must be getting on a bit now though I've had a look through the site a bit and they do mention a bar and a party so that might provide entertainment and dutch courage for the less cosplay inclined among us going to this get-together, if this is the get-together Maybe it's about time I bought my own costume, rather than using my friend's all the time Since this one, compared with the events I've been to, is not just about sci-fi but all sorts of TV, I might be able to push the boat out a bit and try something different other than Star Trek.

No idea who I'm going as this time. I thought about Majicthise from h2g2 but I'm not so sure now. The last couple of times I've gone as Tom Bakers Doctor but the coat is a bit warm and the 12ft scarf does tend to get in the way a bit.
Still got a couple of months to go so hopefully I'll come up with something pretty awesome
As for Red Dwarf, they are getting on a bit but only a bit. Red Dwarf X was great and I'm really looking forward to XI and XII.

I can just imagine you walking around as Tom Baker and tripping over your scarf all day long.
I have no idea either what to go as but if I'm being realistic it'll probably be Odo again or no costume at all. The site for the Brighton event that you linked to said Rene was going to be there so he may go to this one as well and I might get to meet him again.
Yeah I thought X was pretty good and am looking forward to any more. I think my favourite was series 6 and my favourite episode was Rimmerworld - 'after you with the balls sir'. Can't remember what episode it was but 'step up to red alert... sir are you absolutely sure? it does mean changing the bulb' was pure classic

Last time I went as the Fourth Doctor..

Haha! You're the spitting image of him!
[semiinterestingfact]Tom Baker is my 2nd cousin. Never met him.[/semiinterestingfact]
