"Two brothers walk up to you.
Man 1 says "One of us tells lies"
Man 2 says "And one of us tells the truth"."
Considering I do not yet know which, if any, tell the truth their statements are not credible. They could both be liars.
I would more generally advocate that one only leave one entrance into their mind(reason), and keep the rest of it rather closed, as it is one hell of a lot easier to shovel shit in than it is to get it out.
If the evidence and reason for you to believe something isn't really any better than the reason you should believe some rural farmer from Arkansas got anally probed by interstellar visitors, then you probably shouldn't.

So it's a trick question then, basically. You're trying to trick people into conclusions they can't support.
I think most people realized there wasn't enough information to draw any meaningful conclusions, so I guess we passed?

I think knight is alright.
He's just finding his feet ...
Give him a few weeks, like Pooley...
All will be good.

Really warm welcome, guys.
Thanks. :\
You're totally welcome. ^_^
In all seriousness, the responses to you have been pretty tame. Anyone who joins a forum saying 'I want to test how intelligent you are' is exposing their hull for a large number of broadsides.

Here is a riddle that I like that is based on logic:
A judge that is undecided about a given defendant proposes this to him:
"Out of this courtroom there are 2 doors, one leading to freedom, the other to jail. In front of each door there is one guard, one that tells always the truth and one that always lie. You can ask one question to one of the guards to try to find the door to freedom."
Now: WHAT IS THE QUESTION THAT THE DEFENDAND CAN MAKE, IN ORDER TO KNOW FOR SURE WICH DOOR LEADS TO FREEDOM?

You can really only deduce anything if you make the assumption that they are consistently lying or telling the truth, but if you do that for the sake of argument, you actually can deduce, because certain constellations of speech cannot occur - see my long response.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

It is important to have precise definitions to try to apply logic. This is the problem with most theistic arguments as they are vague and use double meanings in words. One could arrive at the most awkward conclusions:
P1: I am nothing
P2: Nothing is perfect
P3: Only god is perfect
---------------------------------
C: I am god.

You came walzing in identifying as a Theist and posted an "intelligence test for the forum" and then left, I'd say you got the appropriate response for your arrogant posturing
But you are welcome here nevertheless! It was also very enjoyable to think about your riddle.
So was your riddle meant to say "exactly one" or at least one? Did you implicitely assume consistency, and if no how are the statements meant, precisely. And how exactly was the extra instruction (undeniable truth) meant? Did you mean to say that person x is definitely not a liar (which would give away half the solution) or are we meant to deduce something from the very fact that one of the statements is obviously the truth (but it is unclear how that would work)
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Clearly, to think that you are not God would be highly presumptuous on your part!

We already had this one in the thread, twice, with two possible solutions
