The greatest conspiracy theory ever

I was going to add that Hitler went after the gypsies pretty hard, too. He also rounded up all of the disabled, if I'm not mistaken.

And almost as bad as the Holocaust deniers are the minimizers, the ones that try to say the numbers are way overblown(usually blaming the Jews for inflating the numbers).

What do I think of them? I don't. I think nothing of them. They are unworthy of a single moment of my consideration.

Boru

You know, I don't think so. Most Holocaust deniers want national socialism to be good, so they can follow it. Wholesale industrial slaughter of millions of people doesn't fit that narrative. And it's not the jews they're after this time round. It's immigrants, colored people, muslims, gays and the left in general. True, there still is antisemitic violence, but it pales in comparison to what these groups do to other people they consider inferior or enemies of whatever state they imagine.

At least that's the way in Europe.

I'd say that's actually worse than outright denial. They're saying that the Holocaust happened, people were murdered, but it wasn't as bad as everyone thinks. So that's alright then.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

"When we're stuck with the real world horror of mass murder and death by random chance things which manage to be sour and terrifying all on their own without the help of aliens and boogymen, we invent complicated conspiracies to control how we feel about them. Because we can't accept random violence, that's too scary. We need something that behaves in a way we can predict and understand, pulling strings that we invent so that we can convince ourselves that even the most senseless acts of chaos are things we should've seen coming a mile away."

Okay let's be clear here - who are you labelling 'deniers'? To me a denier is someone who denies the "final solution", who denies there was a specific policy to exterminate Jews held in camps, and who denies the use of extermination gas chambers at Auschwitz, Chełmno, Majdanek, Belzec, Sobibór and Treblinka.

There are other historians who are merely critical of the details and not those well established facts - they deny that 6,000,000 Jews were killed for example (and it is true that the number killed is believed to be closer to 5 million now). If I recall correctly, about 3-3.5 million Jews were deliberately killed in extermination chambers. Squabbling over exactly what the number is isn't denial - that's what we expect historians to do. Although those on the fringes are often pretty bad and clearly biased historians, they aren't 'deniers' per se.

Many of the images taken do show prisoners that were sick and dying from typhus, or who were starved to death - that's true. That isn't evidence that exterminator chambers didn't exist, it's evidence that we don't have any pictures of them in action.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK
