To clarify more:

it's not ruled out the English teacher would report everyone, and the TSA guy might fail to notice everything so there is a problem with the example, what is the 'official' term for that infraction ?
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

When assholes point to Kim being a democrat claiming that proves Dems are the true racists, that is fucking bullshit. The only difference between a Dixiecrat and Clive Bundy Tea Party gun hugging racist are economics. It still amounts to the rich and the religious right pitting the middle class and poor voters against each other. Xenophobia is the bread and butter that allows the top to divide the rest of us

"Schools" are conformity factories designed to stamp out all sparks of free thinking and use of intelligence, not institutions of education. Half the adults running them have double digit IQ's. This kid sounds smart, like a future scientist who will make valuable contributions to society kind of smart. Best punish the creativity out of him before it grows since the moronic adults can't tell a DIY alarm clock from a bomb! Glad I missed this "arrest everyone for everything" world by a couple years. Me and my friends would have all been in jail consistently growing up.

I think the idiot teacher and administrators should be arrested over what happened to this poor kid. That goes back to my stupidity should be a crime punishable by law argument....

My point in sharing this wasn't to make a one-to-one comparison of the situations but to share an interesting anecdote I saw on my facebook page (the first post I saw about Ahmed was literally immediately prior to this post in my news feed), but if you're trying to look at the one as an analogy for the other I would say that the teacher and the TSA agent would be playing similar roles and that yes it would be a not-great analogy. If I had to stamp this with a fallacy, I'd probably call the comparison of the teacher to the TSA agent something of a strawman.

Luck of the draw IMO. They essentially strip searched my feeble little 87 year old grandmother at the airport the last time she flew before she passed away, which was also in 2004.

And just about gave me the third degree when I packed pastels in my carry-on luggage to New York this June Undecided They pulled me out of line, talked to me, ran drug/chemical tests on them, etc. and didn't look like they wanted to let me through... oddly enough both other security checks I went through (at the Statue of Liberty and JFK airport) just waved me on through.

Well, "pastels" is very similar to "pistols" so, looking at it from their point of view they...... are....... still morons.

I suspect they freaked because of the way they were packed, but still.

Appreciate that.  I knew something was wrong there.
