There's a place to discuss apologetics and doctrine.  It's called a Christian forum.

Of course, there might be merit in having a separate section.  Under "note for Theists" we could put something like "any post that could be interpreted as an attempt to preach or convert will automatically be moved into the _____ section".   That would make a whole lot of extra work for our mods, though, and they're busy enough.

If you want to be taken seriously in your threads, present your own arguments in your own words (you can use links to support it but don't copy pasta the whole damn website), and try to make your points without being a condescending jerk. There are people here who will have serious discussions with you. You choose to focus only on the ones who won't, because your reason for being here isn't really to discuss anything. You just come to make a scene so you can run off and cry to your friends about how the big bad atheists were mean to you.

Why?

How would it differ from the current subforums? Without special rules in place to enforce a difference, it would end up just being the same as the current Christianity subforum in content. What special rules would you suggest for this new subforum to differentiate it? (I also see a problem in that there isn't enough demand for such a forum.)

I think it's pointless, I don't see any reason why you can't have serious discussion in the subforum that already exists. But if the mods feel like making another one just for you I won't complain. Why should I care?

We have plenty of very serious discussions about these matters. I'm not aware of any limit to how serious the discussions can be in the current sub-forums.

Agreed Rob.  We have had many serious discussions in the existing forums.  So long as everyone follows the general forum rules about copypasta, and the resulting exchanges are cordial, many great discussions ensue.

It seems that many non-Christian forum members have gotten quite upset that their "sanctuary" (from Latin sanctus - "holy") has been invaded from time to time by people who have come here to discuss ideas and evidence supporting Christianity. This spoils the fun for those who simply want to poke fun instead.

Perhaps creating a second subforum for the exclusive purpose of allowing theists and atheists to make their respective cases would make everyone happier.

Thoughts?

The philosophy forum and the religion forum and its subforums appear to work just fine for discussing whether god exists or any particular religion has any truth to it.  The ones concerning the existence of god or which try to prove the divinity and/or resurrection of Jesus tend to get repetitive as one Christian after another comes forward with the same arguments as the last one.  I've only been on the forum just a little over a year and I've already seen threads concerning every argument in you have brought up at least twice, usually more than twice.  Sometimes they lead to real discussion, sometimes not.  Copy-paste and blatant proselytizing rarely do.
