It also doesn't take into account the infinite number of ways each particular religion may require you specifically to act, even if it was true.

Oh yes. Then there's the infinite number of possible gods who have deliberately left no evidence of themselves as a test, to see who buys into fake evidence and worships false gods. Those that do so shall be punished.
