Yup as the dog understands that attacking might lead to injury . Not to mention we have breed a lot of the killer instinct out of modern dogs .

Whereas the cop understands that no amount of attacking is likely to lead to his injury.
It's honestly not surprising that Min doesn't have any trouble filling these threads. The system blows, the cops know that too. It consistently fails to protect people from police, the very people who are supposed to be protecting -them-. People rarely behave their best when they know they can get away with their worst.

I came across this. Two cops come in about a loud music complaint at four in the morning, and a dog threatens them. They open fire, a cop and a kid get shot. They miss the dog, but the news report states the dog will be euthenized. The teenager died.

Damn, even if they really thought it was a knife, the kid was tasered, shooting him would still have been completely unnecessary. If they thought he still had some conscious control over his body they could have given him a hard rap on the hand or forearm with their batons. But I doubt he had anything in his hands when they shot him anyway.
They were in kill mode.
