As I said, WWI Dreadnought. Austro-Hungarian ship named Szént Istvan. It has all the hallmarks of a Dreadnought. Main battery of the same calibre (30,5 cm) and secondary battery too (15 cm).

That's what it looked like in reality.

And that's "His"(Austro Hingarian ships were always male) history.

The Italians and Americans also used triple turrets on ships of that vintage. The Italian Conti di Cavour class mounted 13 12" guns in three triple and two twin turrets!

Cool! I'm sorry to make you repeat it. I saw after the fact that you'd already been asked, and had answered. I figure nobody else would be interested, so I didn't read ahead.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

No, I'm glad someone's interested. What fascinates me are anachronisms. We were once a naval power, not one of the major ones, but still. And that's what got me interested in our naval history, since we even had great admirals. Back in the 80ies I even went to our national archives to copy the blueprints of our ships.

Jane's is awesome. I had a copy of Jane's (1968 edition) All the World's Aircraft and a copy of Jane's Fighting Aircraft of WW2.

I even had his original (1908?) guide to his naval combat wargame. Smile

Yeah, I've owned several volumes of Jane's over the years, none vintage.

The Bismarck or Tirpitz are also great battleships to model. Awesome job abaris. Too bad Battleships got obsolete, they were badass.

They were things of beauty. They never had their purpose, since at their hayday, the submarines already made them obsolete. But they were still in the tradition of the ship of the line. One tiny historical individuality of our navy of old was calling battle ship captains "Linienschiffs-Kapitän", which simply means "Ship of the Line commander".
