You see, Pyrrho, deep down we still miss our Kaiser, and what better way to compensate than a quick trip across the channel to see the cousins (at least indirectly)! Americans have this longing as well. There have got to be more fans of the royal family in the US than in the UK.

Sure, but after you got rid of them there'd be this rude awakening that you're just another country. Then you'd have to improve in some other way to become better, like lowering unemployment and all that.
