its a relief to think that life was an accident?
it should be depressing to think we're all molecules in motion and nothing else
you put your faith in whatever research you found against the kjv then
Strawman much? You don't have a shred of intellectual integrity, as far as I can tell.

they want to make the kjv look unreliable because they don't want you to read it!
there are no contradictions in the kjv
and if we are a cosmic accident then there is nothing wrong or right about anything its just our opinion. but even that is just electricity in our brain or sound waves coming out of our mouth. we might as well not exist
Wooooooooooowwwww. Conspiracies, maaaaaannn! GTFOH with that BS.
Who told you there are no contradictions in the KJV? Do you mean A) "no contradictions with reality?" or B) "no internal contradictions", because there are both.
How about basic contradiction type A, where Genesis 30 claims that "clever" Jacob (aka Israel, as renamed at Peniel following an angelic, or possibly godly, wrestling match) managed to become wealthy through his understanding of what we today call Lamarckism, or "heritability of acquired characteristics" from parents to offspring, which is what people thought about how species adapted to their environments before Gregor Mendel discovered genes and genetic inheritance, and Darwin discovered Natural Selection. Lamarckism sounds good, but turns out to be flat wrong. As in, "flat-earth" levels of wrong, being apparently true but not in fact. Yet the entire existence of Israel as a nation is based on this "cleverness" of its patriarch Jacob/Israel, in "knowing" something about how to get spotted sheep by cutting stripes in poplar branches and putting them in front of the water troughs where they mated, which just happens to be a load of complete crap.
Or basic contradiction type B, where there are "no contradictions" between the stories, I'll just refer you to a chart about ONE issue:
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

As for the "or we might as well not exist"... what the eff, dude?
You really think that if we're not magically-created-from-silica-clay (clay, by the way, is made up mainly of mineral crystals formed from aluminum and silicon, none of which are components of human bodies... not that the ancients knew that), then there's no reason to live?
You Creationists need to take a serious look at your psychological issues, all joking aside.

Can I also just say that "I wouldn't like it if my god didn't create the world," is not an argument that he did?

You're totally missing my point.
Am I really about to have to teach a Christian about his own Bible, again?
The King James I of England's Authorized version, you think has no "political agendas" or errors in its translation, but that anything which deviates from a book commanded to be put forth by a king (and a very unpopular one, who was known for political manipulation). In fact, the KJV was literally created for the purpose of manipulating the Church of England's doctrine at a time when he needed the priests as political allies:
Quote:The King James Version (KJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV) or King James Bible(KJB), is an English translation of the Christian Bible for the Church of England begun in 1604 and completed in 1611. In 1612, the first King James Version using Roman Type was issued. This quartoversion is only second to the 1611 folio KJV.
First printed by the King's Printer Robert Barker, this was the third translation into English to be approved by the English Church authorities. The first was the Great Bible commissioned in the reign of King Henry VIII (1535), and the second was the Bishops' Bible of 1568. In January 1604, James I convened the Hampton Court Conference where a new English version was conceived in response to the perceived problems of the earlier translations as detected by the Puritans, a faction within the Church of England. The translation is considered a towering achievement in English literature, as both beautiful and scholarly.
James gave the translators instructions intended to guarantee that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its belief in an ordained clergy. The translation was done by 47 scholars, all of whom were members of the Church of England.
(Bold emphasis, as always, my own. I included the bit about it being the third translation because of something you said earlier about the older the translation, the better.)
Poor dumb xtians. They never do seem to catch on.

I laugh my ass off when these dickheads insist that the US was founded on "christian values." Xtian values propounded the divine right of kings...not the rights of man.

how
Because, English. The more interesting question is how you were able to read a verse that says the gate is small and the way to it narrow as 'easily accessible'.

In fact, many of us think it's downright silly and embarrassing that there are still adults who buy into this garbage. Persuade me that Yahweh exists and you might have the basis for a real conversation. Barring that, fuck off.
you think its stupid and I think its the words of eternal life. the conversation is real and if you think its garbage then you shouldn't be offended. I take no offence of Muslims telling me ill go to hell if I don't convert to islam. read a KJV bible and you'll find out
I think if you had Muslims tell you you're going to hell as often as many of us have Christians telling us we'regoing to hell, you might start to get annoyed. Plus, it's the thought that counts.
