Actually, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments is God's revelation; it is thus verbally inspired and completely without error (historically, scientifically (not a science manual however and is worded to be relevant across millenniums), morally, and spiritually) in its original writings - along the way it recorded man's sin ('evil' is some sense is defined as 'sin'). Scripture reveals the being, nature, and character of God, the nature of God's creation, and especially His will for the salvation of human beings through Jesus Christ; after all, the primary purpose of the universe is redemption of which only humans can partake. The big bang event would be nothing but chaos and randomness if it didn't have a purpose. The four fundamental physical forces were perfectly integrated and the physical laws were pre-established to govern them.

You have got to be fucking kidding.    Wacky    That book is sick, twisted, and stunningly ignorant.

I've never understood that particular belief....the question seemingly being "if god didn't exist then what would have boxed the big bang in?"  Well....nothing -did- box the big bang in, so.......  Huh

I guess the question implied there is why did the Big Bang happen when it happened.

The four fundamental physical forces were perfectly integrated and the physical laws were pre-established to govern them.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, as I'm simply picking off the top of my head.

Historical errors in the bible:

1) The first creation myth. The universe wasn't created c 6,000 years ago by god shouting for a light.
2) The second creation myth. Humanity wasn't created ex nihilo.
3) The exodus. We have no evidence for either mass slavery building the pyramids (most workers were either paid craftspeople or temporary draftees) nor for any judaic presence in Egypt (well prior to the Hellenistic period anyways)
4) The "invasion" of Canaan. The jews were a minor group of the semitic Canaanite people who eventually grew to be the most dominant tribe.
5) The united kingdom of Judah/Israel. No archeological evidence for such a kingdom exists and the periods where the bible says it existed the whole area was under Egyptian, Lydian, Assyrian or Babylonian control.
6) The "census". First of all censuses didn't happen like as described (they still don't, a census is a snapshot of people where they live right now, not where their purported ancestors lived 20 generations ago). Second of all Iudea still wasn't part of Rome proper during the timeframe given, it was a protectorate. Third of all the dramatis personae given for the Iduean and Roman sides weren't in place when Yeshua was supposedly born, thus leading to biblical "scholars" torturing the timeline to make it fit.
7) The crucifixion. The Roman state used crucifixion for traitors against itself (such as Spartacus), reserving the worst punishment for the worst perceived threats, not minor heretics of a religion of a subject people who were found guilty under the religious laws of the subject people. The jews didn't use crucifixion, preferring stoning or lynching.

Scientific errors in the bible:

1) Both creation myths, they are both at variance with each other, and get nothing right about how the universe started, how the solar system started, how the world is shaped nor how the current biodiversity came to be.
2) The flood. This story is so scientifically wrong that I can safely assert that you have more chance of seeing me morph into the USS Enterprise ("no bloody, A, B, C or D!") than the global forty day flood having happened.
3) Jonah surviving being et by a whale. How's he going to survive the acid melting his flesh and bones, and the lack of a breathable atmosphere?
4) The raisings of the dead. Both old and new testaments tell such stories. Now there is a plausible explanation for these, in that medical knowledge was so bad at the time that people may have appeared to be dead when they weren't and somebody with slightly better knowledge took advantage of this to proclaim a miracle when the not dead "corpses" were revived. So we may have a string of confidence tricksters.
5) The other miracles. These are simply implausible and unrepeatable assertions at third hand remove from the supposed events. These accounts are so scientifically invalid that anything that gets into the bible that is scientifically correct can be dismissed as coincidence.

Interesting to note that you don't talk about the bible being geographically correct. Maybe you accept that the new testament was written by a bunch of people who didn't know the land they were writing about, and that the old testament was a bunch of legends for which geography was vastly unimportant.

Moral problems with the bible:

1) God drowned the world because the people he created didn't live up to his demands, despite him creating them in such a way they wouldn't.
2) God condemning consensual gay sex, and gay rape. Yet in the same breath god says it is ok to rape and then murder two women.
3) God forcing a man to kill his only son and heir for his personal amusement.
4) God demanding that all the people of a rival tribe being slaughtered apart from the prepubescent girls who were to be given a life of sexual slavery and daily rape.
5) God hatching a plan to kill all the men of another tribe, who were willing to subsume their culture and beliefs into those of "god's chosen people" as a peace offering. This peace offering is despite the fact that the rival tribe is the wronged party, as the jews had kidnapped their women to subject them to, you've guessed it, a life of sexual slavery and daily rape.
6) Turing a woman into a pillar of salt just for looking at the dazzling light show that god put on.

It has been calculated that in the bible satan has committed ten murders whereas god has committed at least two million. You have to ask yourself who is the more evil.

To conclude I'll give you a quote from another book:

Havelock Vetinari, Unseen Academicals; Terry Pratchett, 2009 Wrote:I was walking along the bank of a stream when I saw a mother otter with her cubs, a very endearing sight, I'm sure you'll agree. And even as I watched, the mother otter dived into the water and came up with a plump salmon, which she subdued and dragged onto a half submerged log. As she ate it, while of course it was still alive, the body split and I remember to this day the sweet pinkness of its roes as they spilled out, much to the delight of the baby otters, who scrambled over themselves to feed on the delicacy. One of nature's wonders, gentlemen. Mother and children dining upon mother and children. And that is when I first learned about evil. It is built into the very nature of the universe. Every world spins in pain. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior.

In my opinion, no. Just another theist who thinks he has special access to knowledge which we're too stupid to understand.

I can't remember if he got around to telling us why we should care about any of this stuff he keeps going on about.

To clarify the future and to increase the knowledge database:  some may be interested, others not so much.
God literally gives a choice to every human being. Those that have looked at this, don’t understand who chooses eternal damnation and why they are so committed to reject eternal reward. You can go where you want for the rest of eternity: Can go to the lake-of-fire or the new creation. In the lake-of-fire (descriptive, not literal since fire consumes, and it’s not God tormenting - God can’t do anything outside of His nature [yes, there are lots of things God can’t do to answer all those ‘stumper’ question], the ‘torment’ is self-imposed).
If you go to that place, you will no longer have to deal with the authority of God, and can be autonomous for the rest of eternity; whereas, if you go the new creation, you’re not autonomous; you’re committed to the authority of the Creator of the universe. If you want that submission, that’s the place for you. If you don’t want that submission, here’s a place for you. In both cases, it’s an expression of God’s perfect love. God is committed to make the lake-of-fire as good as it can possibly be, given who is going there and the decisions those individual have made. Those individuals that have shown the greatest capacity for evil (an expression of sin against God), will be restraint* the most in their desire to commit evil and therefore will experience the most ‘torment’. God protects the inhabitants by imposing limits on evil.
One benefit that is generally not pointed out is that those who choose redemption, come back to the Earth for the 1000 year reign of Christ. That’s the period when righteousness rules** , and the desert blooms like a rose. Have you ever wonder what’s the purpose of some of Earth’s desolate terrine like between Barstow, CA and Las Vegas? It’s being reserved for the millennium kingdom. Crops, vegetation of all varieties will flourish with hardly any effort from those inhabiting the Earth during this 1000 year period.
*Precedents in scripture.
** Peace on earth and peace in the animal kingdom - “The wolf shall dwell with the lamb.”  “Can turn the other cheek” since there will be swift and certain justice.
Atheist Credo: An universe by chance that also just happened to admit the observer by chance.

Knowledge database?  Oh yes, collected information about human myth and superstition.

Quote:God literally gives a choice to every human being.
Then let God show up and offer me that choice:  without a book and without human intervention. Your preaching is neither needed nor welcome.

Nope. I won't be anywhere, I'll be dead.  There is no afterlife.

If you'd put down your silly holy book long enough to read a book by someone who could really write, you'd know perfectly well that the stretch between Barstow and Vegas is where the drugs kick in. A headful of mescaline and amyl nitrate will get you flourishing vegetation in the desert, my one-book pony.
