Why atheism?

And Chad...you had best hope that Swedenbourg did not have a brain tumor?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emanuel_Swedenborg

Quote:In 1741, at age 53, he entered into a spiritual phase in which he began to experience dreams and visions, beginning on Easter weekend of 6 April 1744. This culminated in a 'spiritual awakening', in which he received revelation that he was appointed by the Lord to write The Heavenly Doctrine to reform Christianity.

Dreams and visions, huh?  Just like fucking 'paul.'

RE: Why atheism?
Belief is not a choice, as has been stated many times.

You can claim to believe whatever you want, however. Anyone who says they choose to believe in God does not, I suspect, actually believe it all. If God was actually evident, then I'd believe in it. Not that complex, really. And there wouldn't be a choice in the matter.

I don't give a flying fuck if there is a god or not, because it wouldn't make any difference to how I live my life. I'm quite happy with how I'm doing, and I don't see what difference the existence of a god would make. Especially since no one can even define for me what a god is, in a way I can distinguish from nothing at all or figments of imagination.

I despise those that consider any idea of God the default position. Regurgitating the imagined excuse for the unexplained imagined by ignorant ancients is fucking boring.

I'll take "fake" for a True Daily Double, Alex.

The guy is much more transparent than he imagines.

I personally don't care if I'm right. There are so many gods to choose from, not believing in any of them seems safer than believing in one over another.

He's someone who's been banned in the past and is now posting from his mum's computer.
He's back home because his girlfriend left him when she realised what a nomnom he is.

See asshole, anyone can make unsubstantiated claims! It's easy! Proving it is another thing entirely.

Belief in god is not a default. I've never believed in any sort of 'god' (whatever that is). I was an atheist from day 1.

Nothing worth responding to in the OP aside that point.
