Rachel Maddow and Rand Paul on Desegregation

RE: Rachel Maddow and Rand Paul on Desegregation
The interview the other day caused controversy, there was an intersting follow up by Rachel Maddow:

I really do love her way of explaining things, and ultimately. I agree.

Oh, and Rand Paul backed down from his position. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/vp/...2337266680

My sexist remark for the day:

Typical woman, bring up a subject and then say "I don't want to talk about it."

If you can't take the heat, why the hell did you turn on the stove?!
Personal opinion, nothing more;

If I own a buisness then I should have the right to hire whoever the fuck I want.

If my clients are in a predominately rich white neighborhood then damnit, I want a white sales rep in that area. Familiarity can breed trust.

If clients are in a predominately rich afro-american neighborhood then I want a black sales rep in that area. If I'm selling christian gift-shop shit then I want to hire a christian salesperson. If I'm selling skinny rich-bitch products then I want a skinny bitch sales rep.

Who the fuck are you to tell me how to most effectively run my buisness?
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

And yet this topic is about businesses that are open to the public and whether they can discriminate against who they serve in their hotel, restaurant, etc... not hiring.

There a lots of things that shouldn't occur, but this is not utopia, they do occur.

Quote:so the solution to the problem is to remove the people who would cause the harassment and discrimination, it is not the woman's or the ethnics fault people hate them for no rational reason.

In my example the person in question is the company owner, so how logical is it to remove the owner from the workplace? Seriously, I understand your point but this black and white outlook on human resource management specially in small businesses where one has to interact with staff intensively is ridiculous. There is no good outcome for a bigot/racists/sexist boss with an employee that represent everything that he/she hates. So the most logical thing for him/her to do is not hire that person to begin with.

I agree with you. Perhaps in the hiring process it could cause issues. But the services they provide they should not have the right to discriminate over things like color and sex. Hopefully there will be less and less bigot racist bosses in the near future, and I think racism as something I will see slowly dissipate in my lifetime.
But yet again if the company was known to be racist I could see it perhaps failing due to society not accepting the company and supporting it, I would have no problems and trying to get his company shut down. And that just may have to be the way to remove these types of people, if they don't want to conform with society we will shut them down. This Rand Paul guy is a racist fuck imo. Also he is staunchly against abortion, thats just stupid. Republicans are for less government intrusion..... he says you cant have abortion. It hurts my brain.

The fact that Paul would equate being black with carrying a gun speaks volumes.

How Libertarian is he about drug laws? Abortion? I don't actually know but I have a good guess.

I read he wanted to disband the DEA and let states decide drugs laws. But I think that was from 2009. He is now running for senate that might change. Abortion against. But who knows now a days people are always changing to "fit" in with the mainstream party to get elected. We should vote for a person not the party with the most money lol.

I looked it up:

Abortion: Never. Raped by daddy? You better deliver that sucker! Seriously.

Same-sex Marriage: Never. Nothing says personal freedom and small-government than the government giving a specific legally defined collection of people their own exclusive legal benefits.

Drugs: His webpage makes zero reference to crime or drugs. I would like to believe that means he takes the less popular position for a Republican.

Yech.
