Why make stupid unsustainable arguments?

You do like to hear yourself say that don't you. Statements like this are meant to...what? Educate me? Convince you?

As I have said: The onus is on Christians to provide evidence for their God. God is merely possible like Santa Claus is possible. Until any evidence is actually provided, there's nothing worth refuting.

I get presents in my stocking at Christmas so there must be a santa, who else would put stuff in there?

Yeah well I'll admit it was a bad analogy.

There's far more evidence for Santa than God.

I mean there's evidence of him right here in video form, and he's an atheist too! :

Good old Santa, how smart he is.

Look. He's even wearing red.

Precision is important here, but it is you who is lacking the attention to detail. I claimed that people call the CAUSE of the Big Bang god; a point you agree with in your last sentence.

Whoops. You're right. Please accept my apologies for having read your post too quickly.

This is incredibly vapid. This is atheistforums.org. You must know this. So we have an entire site setup around a position taken regarding a very specific question: does god exist. Now you come along to inform us that making the observation that there is no evidence for god is 'POINTLESS'. Not only is it not pointless, it is THE fucking point.

Your dealing with another one who is to deeply invested in the bullshit to ever escape it, Cato.

And which bullshit is that, Minimalist?

I call out the believers for their stupidity just as quickly as I do the skeptics for theirs.

There just aren't as many opportunities for the former in this forum for obvious reasons.

Oh just you wait, Athrock. They'll be along shortly!  Angel
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

We hear this ground leveling bullshit a'plenty......pretty sure you're going to fail to provide what you've -just- claimed to possess.  Let's see some of that evidence.

Surely, if it doesn't materialize..then there is nothing pointless or difficult about concluding that there is none. I don't have any evidence, I've never seen any evidence.....no one has ever provided me with evidence...and the people who claim to have it (you've decided to include yourself in that lot, hilariously) routinely fail to provide in the most fantastic manner imaginable. Evidence must be..wait for it..evident. If "evidence" is not evident..then it isn't evidence, end of story.

Let's switch the subject, to make it less contentious. Someone claims to have a marble. I;ve never seen a marble, I don't possess a marble. Fine, I say, lets see this "marble". Turns out the claimant can't actually show you the marble. Plenty of other people believe in marbles, that they have marbles....you ask them, none of them are any better at demonstrating this "marble" business than the first guy. What you notice, in all of this marble brewhaha..is that different people who all claim to have marbles describe different things. Someone comes along and says they have evidence of marbles...but can't actually provide that evidence......

How long are you going to deal with this bullshit before you conclude that marbles are fantasy, or worse..that people are fucking with you, being deliberately deceitful in their claims? The amusing bit, imo..is that it doesn't actually matter whether or not there really are marbles (or a god) in this context. Either way, the statement, "there is no evidence for marbles/god" is justified just as equally and rationally.
