Yes, Atheism is a Religion

RE: Yes, Atheism is a Religion
Delicate said: "Lay out what it is you believe about whether there can be someone in existence today with a rational basis for believing in God."

There is not one single shred of measurable, scientific proof for the existence of god,  so therefore there is no rational basis for believing in god.
When proof is presented, atheists will change their tune.

And, you've got the cart before the horse.  As everyone keeps telling just about every proselytizer that posts here, the one making the claim for the existence of something is the one responsible for providing the proof.  Our skepticism simply needs scientific proof.  If you say "god exists" then you must provide the proof.  Put up or shut up.

That's exactly the assumption everything I've said is compatible with.

What assumption? That atheists don't believe in gods? That's the definition, in the same way that not eating meat is the definition of being a vegetarian.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

damn, homee. Sweeping generalization much?

Do you even know the "entire atheist population"? That's upwards of millions and millions of people, brother. You'd have to be very popular to know that many individuals, period.

I suspect that you met some unpleasant atheists browsing the comment section of YouTube, and now you'd like to project your feelings onto every atheist ever. Sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately we're not all dicks.

Re the OP: No, you still don't know what you're talking about. You have all the empathy and insight of a rock.

I know a lot of rocks that would be very offended by the comparison.

My apologies to any rocks which may have been offended by my remarks. All I meant to say was that the OP's capacity to understand the way atheists hold their disbelief was lacking.

For some, yes, for others, no; as has already been pointed out, atheism only requires an absence of belief.

That's why he calls himself "delicate".

OP, if I get to be tax exempt and get all of the other benefits religion(s) gets then fine. If not, piss off!
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
