RE: Sad thought about Jesus.
Mr. Hanky,

Yes some species have a conscience on some level. All have instinctual drive and direction. Humans are the only ones that seem to have the capacity to ignore that instinct or direction.

What isn't opinion is that the conscience isn't solely the effect caused by changes in chemical balances as it causes the changes and further thought and emotion as a result.

Not basing what is needed on the general consinsus of those who haven't heard me out. Being an atheist for an extended period; I've always viewed and pondered things. Atheists in general have a good grasp on right and wrong, and the flaws of much of organized religion. Believe it or not, I can relate to them, and they hold potential that may be past that of some. There are a couple of reasons for me to be here. the reason I posted here under this topic is that something written probably seemed pretty wrong to me, or I had a question.

I'm not promoting hypocritical Christianity or any other half way or greedily lead doctrine or one of violence on nearly any level.
The ten commandments are quite relevent, but as you stated sorta; the conscience will show you what is right and wrong. What you left out was that removal of greed and reward as motives for actions the conscience is indeed universal. Your argument that it is a product of evolution by chance is flawed as the Gita speaks of this process and the motives there of. It's over 4000years old. I do believe in evolution just not chance.

As far as what is right and wrong, like I stated earlier; one may not be able to see their own wrong due to societal norms and greed or selfishness and the desire of the material. Sin is not a religious construct. It is what weighs on your heart once you have been shown it is wrong. Fornication has an exponential potential to spread desease and virus, especially given the permiscuity and lack of sobriaty in general populous. Teaching children not to honor parents will only lead to children that grow to not heed any lesson from their parents and the following generation would be worse, it could lead to a lot of problems. Even if you were abused you would hopefully at least forgive them prior to their death. This would be honoring them. Instead of saying sin I will say negativity or greed, no problem. I do not really adhere to the whole original sin thing or being unable to be without sin in any way. That is a false doctrine made by old Catholics trying to confuse and nuteur people. We need the forgiveness of God, but more so the direction that has has been intended and ordained/prophesied for thousands of years. striving to do your best is a good thing, and something many atheists seem to have in common. The finer points of doing your best aren't related to wealth or prosperity by your hands though, and are literally shown through scriptures and the selfless conscience. You know doubt have a conscience, but you most likely rationalize things with personal gain at the center, maybe not even at the center but it's there. If that is the case then unbiased reading and comprehension of varied scriptures could most definitely benefit people even if they aren't aware that they need help.

To me all the errors and pain brought about by the hand of man is but a lesson that repeats itself on various levels until we grasp the lesson at hand of perish. It is evidence that God is merciful, all subsisting, and beneficiant.

Top down approach?

God is similar to a watch maker in ways. He also cmhas the capacity to intervine when he sees fit. He started the ball rollin or let there be light, caused the big bang. What suggests to you that God couldn't have done that?

Didn't say all people were predatory, and could you tell me what religion you are referring to please? Why does direct comunicstion or direction under God make the story unbelievable? Remember the conscience, and shame?

Not trolling out any division or saying any are wrong. Preaching peaceful unity that can bring about a new era of advancement and prosper. Really don't understand why it's met with such negativity. Also you just mentioned people being around for 75000years, all I'm saying is that for their entire time here they have known that they were created on some level and held the creator with respect and thanks.

No it's not the gospel according to me, I try not to be a hypocrite. And others, I try to follow the teachings of Christ through scripture and the things placed on my heart, which is also whacks taught in scripture.

Where have you been? You were an atheist for over twenty years and then literally saved only to five years later finally put together the pieces and find an outlet? Cool, lets discuss.

Just peace.

You seem confused. Humans are predatory, they just deceive themselves about it because it isn't nessicarily violent.

Then "sin" is acting according to human nature, the way you would claim your god created us. Human nature, criminalised.
Not human nature criminalized. Does one keep from stealing raping and murdering because they know better and understand that there are consequences for there actions, or do they truly consider theft, murder, and rape to be ok and the consequences to be the actual crime? It's not criminalizing human nature, it's separating greed from good.

Don't play Dolphinetics with me. You mentioned greed and hate and described humans as predatory by nature. I never mentioned rape, murder and theft as basic human characteristics.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
