Atheists' Attitude?

In my experience - many (most?) christians reveal themselves to be smug, petty, insecure little b*tches, when their faith is shaken and they begin to realize, that the nonsense they've been taught as facts all their lives can be easily dismissed, just like all the other fairy-tales, from the "wrong" religions...

Given your butthurt, I can only suspect you're speaking from experience.

*you're

It's "you're", not "your". In your case it's "your" though, given that your butt hurt when you rammed that cactus up it forgetting the lube.

Mustn't. Forget. The lube. Understand? Especially when you're a sufferer from restless anus syndrome like yourself.

Or they more often react defensively, they dodge around the question and they rationalize the absurd beliefs in the same way an alcoholic rationalizes drinking.

Depends on the person. Maybe some of them don't like it when they are confronted about their beliefs because they are insecure about them, and maybe others don't like it because they don't think it's anyone else's business to get in their face about their beliefs. No different from anyone else with their own views.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Explains why atheists think Hitler was so smart

ActuallyHitler was smart and, in many ways, highly Charismatic.

He was also a murdering piece of shit who was a megalomaniac. Just like Jim Jones, Stalin, and a number of other sociopaths from the 20th century.

intelligence does not denote mental stability.

I look at it as a spectrum, similar to 5 stages of grief.

1. Denial - outright rejecting the possibility of the belief being erroneous. Theists at this stage tend to think other people don't share their faith, because they don't know it or don't understand it.

2. Anger - upon realization, that disbelief can withstand their limited assortment of arguments, theists begin to lash out, or assume a condescending, passive-aggressive posture, trying to present the opposition as inferior to themselves, intellectually, or morally. Physical violence is not out of the question, depending on the natural tendencies of the individual and physical proximity of un-believers.

3. Bargaining - when anger doesn't have the expected results, it's time to rationalize the beliefs, massage them to suit current social standards and try find a place for them in the gaps of scientific knowledge.

4. Depression - that's when they just shut themselves off from the discussion, defiantly clutching what remains of their beliefs.

5. Acceptance - when they finally come to terms with the core of their beliefs being irrational and fairly irrelevant.
They may keep their faith, but they don't push it on other people. Most theists die way before reaching this stage...

If you mean the experience of wishing to see you shove a huge cactus up your ass, yes, I have that experience pretty much every time you post.

I had this thought a while ago that, well, you know how they're always saying things like 'atheism is a religion' and they try to claim that we place 'faith' in reason and other shit. It puts me in mind of a heroin addict confronted by a concerned friend, rationalizing his use of the drug in the manner of: "So what if I use heroin? You smoke weed! And weed is a drug, just like smack.'

No it isn't, imaginary stand in, no it isn't.

As far as I'm aware, Delicate refuses to say what she actually believes. So calling us stupid for disagreeing with her is difficult to respond to, when we don't know what we're disagreeing with, or whether we even would disagree with it. For all we know she thinks the Statue of Liberty is God.

If she has said so, I'll be interested to hear it. (I got that nonsense on ignore.)

She's either a troll (most likely) or someone embarressed about their beliefs, seeking to reassure themselves by insulting the "opposition".
