#2 Reason to Hate People Who Hate Big Pharma

America don't want to put too much of a limit on the price on meds that they drive away the corporations but don't want to put too less of a limit on the price on meds that they drive away their citizens.

In the end, it is about who this country cares more about. It's citizens or it's corporate giants.

There's a reason that the feds have tried so hard to eliminate cross border trade of pharmaceuticals and it has nothing to do with health risks. If they can sell these drugs at far lower prices in Canada or Mexico, they can sell them at those same prices in the US as well.

Defend big pharma for there meds all you like. You won't find many arguing against you. Defend their marketing practices and you'll likely be considered a fool, even if you're not called one to your face.

I can't function on a daily basis without big pharma, but I don't think that justifies many of their pricing practices.  They know people rely on them, so they charge exorbitant prices. FSM help you if you need a medication with no generic version.

I'm not saying that there aren't problems. I'm saying that dismissing them altogether - especially if it's only because you hate corporations - and espousing alternative methods to avoid them as many migraine sufferers are encouraged to do, is fucking wrong. It's just fucking wrong.

I don't think being against "Big Pharma" is the same thing as being against medications entirely. I have kidney disease, so I choke down a number of pills each day: for blood pressure, cholesterol, active Vitamin D deficiency, and proteinuria. The meds I take are significantly slowing down the disease. So I have "Big Pharma" to thank for that. But some meds can be incredibly expensive, and every time I'm prescribed a new medication I have to have a battle to the death with my insurance. They almost always refuse to cover it initially, and it takes countless phone calls and countless screaming matches for them to finally cover anything. I'm still fighting with them to cover the costs of a kidney biopsy from almost a year ago. Anyway, the most recent example of this: I was prescribed an inject able gel, but the bottles cost over $3,000 each. Each bottle is about 5 weeks worth. And of course my insurance says, "Lol no."

I believe in the effectiveness of pharmaceutical medications, but I am absolutely against our healthcare system, of which Big Pharma is a HUGE part.

The closest "homeopathic" view I hold? I much prefer marijuana as means of maintaining low blood pressure than Vasotec.

Fuck big pharma for running their industry like a racket, but even more so fuck the government for not bargaining collectively to keep prices down. I can't believe we don't get good medicines unless they receive extortion level payments which wreck the affordability of health care. So fuck big pharma with cactus, no lube.
