Not a meme...but.....built to purpose, strong and capable...and then left to rust in a field somewhere.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Also not a meme, but worth considering:

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

(Spoiler alert: the answer is never)

The amusing thing about that meme is that if the colonists had not had guns ( and germs ) the native americans would have wiped the floor with them.

Indeed. The colonists were helped by the worst smallpox plague in history, wiping out up to 80% of the native population. Imagine the Mayflower coming face-to-face with the native Americans at full numerical strength. They wouldn't have had the time to shit their pants.

I really, really, really, REALLY hate the guilt by association fallacy. It's not an argument, it's a red herring at best.

Bullshit, first off the Allies put the heavy restrictions on Germany, NOT AN OUTRIGHT BAN, but heavy gun regulations on Germany after WW1. Hitler relaxed gun laws and expanded them to party and German loyalists. And it wasn't like Stalin and Hitler liked each other in any case.

So if gun huggers fear the left so much, remember there is no political party oath in the 2nd Amendment to own one, so if you are for gun rights then you also have to defend democrats rights to own them as well. So if liberal gun owners who voted for Obama and will Vote for either Hillary or Bernie then the only way to stop liberals is to do what Hitler did and demand a party nationalist oath as a litmus test for ownership.

Oh and you idiots don't understand that government even in Washington's time used the "militia" to preserve the union against moron anti taxers.

Sorry guys, but on top of laws with just about every other product changing with changing technology, it is flat out absurd to think the founders intended no rules at all. They used the militia to preserve the country, not so John Wayne and Dirty Harry morons could falsely play victim.

I am sick of the paranoid crap from gun worshipers that if we vote to change laws that we will become a fascist state. GROW UP!

I support gun rights and some regulation. For example, you should be at least eighteen and pass a criminal record check. But other than that I support the right for people to defend themselves.

And I didn't say anything about becoming a Fascist state. I posted a meme about some dictators, that image wasn't being entirely serious just saying, or at least I didn't mean it seriously.   Undecided

I don't fear the left - I am a member of the left, I mostly support leftist parties with the exception of some of their gun policies. Or at least I oppose the lefties who wish to take the guns out of civilian hands entirely.

I certainly don't think a civilian should be walking around with a fucking AR-15 or some military grade assault rifle, so don't clump me in with those nutcases. Excuse me if my post doesn't make sense or whatever, I'm pretty damn tired.

Yea you don't need a spray weapon or huge clips. You sound sane to me, I don't say "all gun owners" but just like religion, "just enough" and currently far too many that don't think like you and are not pragmatic.

And I also hate how the huggers claim they want to keep guns out of the wrong hands. But it is perfectly possible to be legal at the time of buy with no record and go on to do something stupid. It still stands that having one in the home is far more likely going to injure or kill someone the person knows than protect oneself from a complete stranger.

And most people do not have crisis training. It isn't enough to simply have no record or hit a target. If you intend on using it for more than hunting and target shooting, and expect to use one to protect yourself, you need to be trained to shoot when your body is under stress and under fire.

I most certainly am not for taking all guns away but it still remains with BOTH legal and illegal guns, there are far too many deaths while using one. We make way too many, and they are way too easy to get.

One of my best friends is from Oklahoma and he was raised with guns. He still likes them but he is not obsessed with them, and even he thinks the NRA has gone off the deep end. My problem, just like with religion, is people take any hint of change as an "all or nothing" proposition, when all I am doing is questioning the status quo and lack of pragmatism of their logic.

With any problem to me, if everything were ok, there would be no fighting. In a perfect world we would all get what we want. I am simply tired of the right and the NRA's obstructionism. They are not protecting gun owners, they are protecting profits.

....it's flat out absurd to insinuate that we have no rules at all.......

If someone makes my property illegal (and me a criminal for having said property)..... for the crimes of another...I am a victim, of -both- that "other" and of a fascist state (hilariously left wing in this case). I hope to avoid this by injecting some factual discourse into the conversation.
