Well, it's not one of those primitive mud brick ziggurats, this one has iron in it, so God better not fuck with it this time.

Saudi has more slave labourers than Dubai; that's why it's so cheap. And Dubai has a lot of slaves. They dress it up as the "Kafalah System". But I know what they're up to.

A mud brick tower of Babel would be rather vulnerable to humidity/rain. Seems like God could have had some fun with the little Nimrod's before confusing their tongues.
