Well, actually, the greek term "christos" just means "anointed". Some folks have connected it with "messiah" (savior, redeemer). Its usage certainly predates Jesus of Nazareth. Mithras was referred to as "christos". I remember reading somewhere that Alexander the Great and Constantine were, at some point, as well, but I don't have time to confirm that right now. But "Christ" is a descriptive adjective, not Jesus' last name.
