Much more plausible is the idea that we're related to dirt
Yeah, a dirt golem and his rib wife is a much more believable story.

Naw, it would still be there. Got to believe to get the ultimate reward. Fear of being kept out. The fear being used is a double edged sword.
To put it bluntly one only has to say eventually heaven would be a hell all by itself given time.
You are stuck in paradise forever with the only object is kissing god's ass and nothing more.
Your free will gets taken away all you do is praise and worship for a eternity. On top of that
you have people who are killers, pedophiles, just horrible people who accepted jesus and ends up
in heaven. That would be a hell to someone or to a ton of people what if a child is in heaven with
his or her pedophile uncle or family member, or a innocent man who was killed for no reason by a psychopath
who accepted jesus i could go on it wouldn't be heaven it would be hell. Even worse i hate to state it
think of the slave owners and the slaves they killed eventually goes to heaven and sees the people he owned...
it wouldn't heaven.

Never said it would be good. They just can't risk being left out. Silly theists.

That's pretty much it i mean remove fear and hell from religion you wouldn't have radical islam or any religion for that matter.
I think instead of attacking religion with facts like we are now we should be attacking the real base of why religion still exists and
that base of fear hell. Hell belief should be challenged and debunked with solid fact. Not to mention getting people to really think
that is the other. Fear is the only thing making people believe and the fear is irrational.
I have been re-thinking my statement. Fear is one huge motivator here, no doubt about it.
But all across America there are these LITTLE Protestant churches, unaffiliated with the big names: the various flavors of Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, etc. The mentality is actually tribal, there is a definite "us against the <evil> world" theme. They have their own practices and traditions. They have THE BIBLE, and it's special, but it's primary use is to tell them that they are special, holy, beloved of God, and the only ones on the right track to heaven. They distrust the bigger churches, and some do not even consider the large denominations to be "real Christians". They are "too worldly".
There is fear, but there is also the insular, separatist, tribal mentality. The thought that they are the only good people and everyone "out there" is evil.
