Atheism and Anti-Theism same thing?
#11
RE: Atheism and Anti-Theism same thing?
I don't think the Christers are going to distinguish between atheists and anti-theists as one is either with god or not.

They aren't too concerned with degrees of separation from god as all the sinners get the fiery lake regardless.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Are you getting at the absurdity of being against something which you have no belief exists?  Of course anti-theists are not actually against God.  They're just against what they feel is a destructive lie.

I'm not an antitheist.  I am an atheist, an agnostic, an ignostic and an apatheistic as well.

It would be just as destructive a truth, if it were one.

Atheism is a statement regarding the status of ones belief in gods. Antitheism is not.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Atheism
Antitheism
Are they basically the same thing or is there a difference?

Atheism - Lack of the belief in god.

Antitheism - Direct opposition of organized religion.
Atheism is a non-prophet organization join today.

I think this needs better phrasing. As it is it makes me cringe a little.

So you're not against belief in God(s)?

As you described the situation, you're an antitheist in both cases, just being more energetic in your antitheism in one of them.

Why does it make you cringe? Atheism is just a rejection of the assertion that a god exists.

I am an atheist and an anti-theist. I have been known to be quite militant about my anti-theism on here, to be honest.

As opposed to antitheism?

They are both states of mind. They are both philosophical positions. They are both rejections of the assertion that a god exists. They only vary in degrees of complexity as such.
