P.S.  Bernie has been around long enough to know this, too.

Now again, ALL politicians in BOTH parties market idealism when they run. They also all know that the real sausage making goes on in congress, Bernie isn't that stupid. The ACA is not perfect, we'd be better off with single payer, but Obama had to deal with the asshole GOP, so he did the best he could. Bernie will be no different as President, but at least he will move the country in a better direction

We still cannot afford a GOP win no matter what.

As to the first, what's the effective difference then between Sander's pie-in-the-sky promises and Trump's "Wall?"

I know voters like to be bullshitted.  The problem is afterwards when nothing happens the buyer's remorse is tremendous.

I'm also sharing this because I think there are other Ron Paul supporters like me who are leaving for similar reasons.  They also have core beliefs similar to me that are compatible with Bernie Sanders such as ending Corporatism or Oligarchy.  Some might be on the fence on 'Government Healthcare', but our current system is so broken I'm for trying Single Payer.
Works good here in Canada. At this point our economy is reeling and we still have a higher median income. Of course we have our own corruption issues, but we don't have an equivalent to the federal reserve either. The closest equivalent is directly owned by the treasury and is far more conservative. Its why we weathered the recession a lot better. Canadian banks are a lot more conservative and don't flaunt their power as much, not that they have less here.

I'm fully aware what gerrymandering is, it's not some kind of American invention. It doesn't apply to all districts though, not by a long shot. If there's massive voter turnout on Election Day, expect the Democrats to regain control of Congress.

The major challenge here is that Republicans don't want to govern. They want to play. However many Republicans, especially of the Ron Paul type, are actually in line with sanders on many things. I think he can utilize this, to get the money out of politics. That is the single biggest issue. The key is reaching out to Republicans that are interested governoring and bring them on side. I was recently watching a exchange between inhofe and sanders and I saw something. Republicans in the house actually have some respect for sanders because they know he isn't a flip floppy little bitch.

Don't "sigh" me dude, I'm trying to have a discussion with you here.

I know you don't need all districts, that's not what I said. I said it doesn't apply to all districts...not by a long shot. Meaning, it doesn't affect enough districts to stop a Democrat majority. Do you have evidence to suggest otherwise? If so, present it. Otherwise, don't "sigh" me like I'm some ignorant political newbie. I may be younger than you but that doesn't mean I'm not aware of the political processes in the USA. You always seem to enter these conversations with a condescending attitude that is quite frankly, below you, and it's not doing you any favors if you want to actually have a decent discussion with people.

There are 435 seats in the House.  A majority is 218.

The Democrats have 168 "safe" seats and 14 "likely" for 182 in 2016

The GOP has 204 "safe" seats and 18 "likely" for 222 in 2016.  This gives them a majority before even considering the other races.

There are only 31 races classified as "toss-up" or "leaning" in one direction or another.  If the democrats swept all 31 (highly unlikely) they still fall short of a majority. 

Math is a bitch.
