Take your comic book
Doomsday fatalism
Your childish tantrums
And get rid of them

Rivers of blood
Is all they produce
Your tribal books
Human trash we're reduced

Religion is
Trying to replace
The telescope
With a kaleidoscope 

You'd have me believe
You'd have me swallow
Tribal gang manuals
That lead to gallows

Then have the nerve
To rail against me
When I tell you
Our real history

I am not in want
Of weapons or war
For simply saying
There is no more

You take it as doom
But I do not
I simply say
This is all we've got

John sang a song
We can Imagine
To accept Shakespeare
And the words of Sagan

To fret over fancy
To kill over antiquity
To die protecting ignorance
The ultimate absurdity

I don't want you dead
I want the hungry fed
I don't want to kill
I want education to fill

Meaningless is
What we've been fed
Our species killing
Over our protectionism

Instead we could
If we wanted to
Value limited time
And value truth

Our species has
Lots it could do
To improve conditions
If forward we move

To much at stake
For all parties involved
To dwell in the past
It's time to move on
